No she can't be dead - I need her. It has been two years without Tris. my heart feels empty, lost, and tired.
Tris was the only one that filled me up, she made me feel as though my life is perfect. After they burnt her, they had let me keep her ashes. I keep them under my bed and every chance I get I talk to them. I feel her presence through them, although I wish I could see and feel her face.
I hear a knock coming from my door.
"Tobias"
"Mom?" Why is she here.
"Sorry honey."
"Don't call me like that - W - Why are you here?!", after these two years she decides to show up today!
"Sorry, and i am also sorry for what happened to-"
"No. Don't tell me anything about her. It has been two years and you barely telling me this", my voice gets louder.
"listen to me Tobias, I can help your", my lips twitch, how does she think she can help me. She is insane.
"I might know a way for you to see her."
"Tris is gone"
"Son, listen to me. You can see her, I promise", this time I couldn't help it, I laugh hysterically. This lady is crazy.
She goes on, " You have her ashes, right?, well you have to just get something from each faction."
"How can I trust you?"
"Tobias - please, I want to help you." Why in the world is she so influantitive.
I want to see Tris, I do believe that I can see her again, yet what is this is one her little tricks.
"I need time"
"No you don't, do it for Tris", my mind suddenly is filled with an image of Tris: her beautiful scars, the way her body is, her seriousness that makes me smile.
"Fine, I'll do it"
I look through my closet. There has to be something in here that has to come from the factions. My mom said that a drawing could even count. I stop. My tattoos.
"My tattoos can work, right?"
"What are they", I don't want to tell her or show her but she will have to see them soon.
" The symbol for each faction", she smiles and nods.
She takes Tris's ashes and before taking them out and spreading them she looks at me, I breathe out heavily and nod.
She takes a hand full and throws it on the floor. My heart drops, a tear escapes from my eye. I have to be strong. This is the inly way I can see Tris.
"Tobias lay on top of her ashes, relax, close your eyes, think of her in your arms, relax." I fall asleep quick.
"Four wake up", Tris. she is there. She runs toward me, hands open wide. Her hug fills me up; just what I needed.
"Tris, h-how are you? Where are we? I am so happy to see you-I miss you. I love you."
"Shhhh... we are okay. You are in a world of peace. How do you get here? Did you also... die?"
"Oh Tris, my mom came. She helped me get here, but she didn't kill me, I am not dead." she slowly process this in.
"You can't be here"
"What? Why?" is she not happy, did she find someone else. I pull her closer to me. Our foreheads touching. She lets go.
"You aren't dead. You know what this means? You can stay here forever if you don't go back to your previous home."
"This is why I came, to be with you"
"Four, you can't. I don't want to be a waste of your time. You have more to experience, and I don't want to be the one holding you back"
"You aren't, I love you Tris, I really do. Please let me be stuck with you even if it means that I'm going to die and not come back to the dauntless faction." She doesn't say nothing. Her eyes are tired and restless, I don't want to argue with her. I grab her hand, hold it tight and stare right into her eyes, trying to figure out what else she is trying to hide.
She finally pulls her hand away from me and tells me one last time to leave. I don't want to, yet I have to do it for her. I say my goodbyes with a hug and a kiss on her cheek. I lay back down where I had previously awaken and close my eyes.
Nothing happens. I am still here. I relax my body and try again. Nothing. Am I stuck here?
Tris had already left me. I am lost. I don't know where I am.
"Tris!" My scream tore through me like a great shard of glass. There was no answer.
