First School Day

It's the beginning of a new school year. I begin getting ready by brushing my teeth, brushing my hair, eat a quick breakfast and get all my things together. I haven't had breakfast with my parents in two years. They're always working. They work all night so they knock out during the days. Mom always leave me notes. Have a good day at school. You'll do great. We love you. I feel like its always the same sticky note. Always saying the same thing. I head to the door and open it. It's sunny with a bit of a soft wind. How can it be sunny so early in the morning. I turn around to lock it and make my way to school. I guess I'm lucky that my school is only a couple of blocks away. I don't need to get a ride or use the bus.
I enter school and head towards the gym. It's kind of empty seeing that its nearly 7:30. I head towards a line that has a sign that reads H-N. There's a few people in front of me. In the corner of my eyes, I see a familiar face. Alex Walker. He was my friend in the beginning of freshman year until his girlfriend ,at the time, was jealous of our friendship. Of course he chose her instead of our friendship. It's not like I was giving him what she was. His eyes met mine and I quickly looked away as if something else had grabbed my attention. I glanced back and his eyes were met again with mine. He smiles a bit and starts to head my way. Oh no.
"Hey, Clara. Getting your schedule?" Duh, doofus. "Uh, yeah. Why else would I be standing here?" "Oh, I don't know. So, how are you? You okay since Alma is gone?" "Oh, uh, yeah. I'll manage. It won't hurt to be alone for the rest of the two years we have left here." I give him a little smile, a little hint for him to leave me alone. It's not that I hate him, it's just awkward. "Oh, come on. You have me, you little booger." He grabs me by my neck and messes up my hair. I laugh but quickly get out of his arm hold. "Thanks but you don't have to force yourself to be my friend, Alex. I'll be fine." He stares deeply in my eyes as if he was trying to find an answer behind my lies. I poke his nose. "Go, I have to get my schedule, man." "Alright well hopefully we have classes together. See ya later clearagator."
I get my schedule and go to my first class. He's there. My second class. He's there too. Lunch? Thankfully not there neither my third or fourth class. Last class? Ugh, he's there.
I start to head home when I see Alex and his friends hang out by his car. I see his ex girlfriend hanging with him too. She glares at me as if I stole her money or something. I ignore it because well why wouldn't I? It's not like she matters at all.
