"Oi, outa my fucking way Deku ." My long train of thought had been abruptly interrupted by a deep rough voice that resonated behind me. I knew all to well who was there before I even turned to greet the crimson red eyes that stared me into the ground. "S-sorry, Kacchan, I didn't see you coming" I step aside before I cause anymore damage. He whisks past me, but not with out sending daggers in my direction that sent chills up my spine. As he walked he muttered under his breath. I couldn't make out exactly what he was saying but I'm sure it was about me, and it can't have been good. I sigh as I make my way into UA, and despite the rough morning I'm still excited for today. It's Kacchan's birthday today, and I built up the nerve to ask if he wanted to have a sleepover like old times. I'm already sure what the answer will be, although after once again being reminded of the attitude he holds I can firmly say there's no hope. Still, I can at least say I tried .
As I walk into Aizawa's class, I see that he has not yet arrived, and all the students are gathered in clumps, talking about whatever fun experiences they had. As I scan the room, I see that Bakugo is sitting alone, isolated on the far side of the room, where the windows were. Surprisingly we made eye contact, but I turn my head quickly, feeling my cheeks flush as I make my way to my seat. I don't dare look at Kacchan after that, worried that he might see through me. Instead I take a deep breath and start doodling on the edge of my paper as I trail off into my thoughts again.
About ten minutes later, Aizawa walks in, look as dead as usual. He flops down into his chair and lets out an exasperated sigh. He pauses for a moment then gets up and starts explaining the lesson, which I don't pay much attention to. In those ten minutes my mind had begun reeling with second thoughts and nervousness as I thought about asking Kacchan. Warily, I sneak a glance over to him, to see that like me, he isn't paying attention. He just stared out the window, making it seem like nothing else mattered. "Did you get that Midoriya?" My head snaps back to the front of the class, and I see Aizawa looking very ticked "What?" I reply stupidly "I asked you a question." He said, beginning to look pissed. " I-I'm sorry sir, I wasn't listening" I stuttered nervously as my cheeks turn red from embarrassment. He sighed deep, and pinched the bridge of his nose.
"I swear you kids make this job even more unbearable than it already is. Just try to keep your attention at the front of the room Midoriya " Aizawa turns back to the board and continues his lesson
My face burns as a few of my classmates snicker, as expected. I can't believe I got called out by the teacher, in front of the whole class! It was so embarrassing. I don't dare look around at the faces of my peers, so I just stare straight ahead and do my best to take notes
After what felt like an eternity, class ended and I rushed out before anyone could ask what was wrong. I wasn't looking where I was going as I practically ran through the door, which resulted in me crashing headfirst into Bakugo. It wasn't strong enough to push either of us off balance, but I was so surprised I stumbled backwards and fell. Stunned I sat there for a second, and when I looked up I saw a hand extending out to help me up. I took it and got back on my feet "T-thanks Bakugo" I say nervously as I dust off my clothes. The only response I get is a grunt as he starts to walk away. I realize this may be my only chance to ask him, considering he seemed to be in a better mood so I call after him.
"Hey Kacchan, wait up!" He pauses as I catch up to him. "What do you want" he growled. this was it. This was my chance, I had to take it and not screw it up. So I take a deep breath and to my dismay start stuttering " U-um, I was wondering, since it's your birthday and all, w-would you like to stay at my house for the night..? I-It's been so long.." I avoid eye contact and shuffle my feet, preparing for rejection and disappointment. "Sure" I stop shuffling. what? He said yes?? "W-what?" I ask "I said yes you damn nerd, are you deaf?!" I stood there blankly "I was just so sure you'd no.." "well surprise, I said yes" he said as he walked away "meet at the front doors?" I yell after him "whatever" is the only response I get. I stand there, just dumbfounded. He said yes? I'm having a sleepover with Kacchan?? My mind spun as I stood there, so many thoughts raced through my mind, when the bell rung. I gasp, realizing I was late for class and ran down the hall, with the events that just unfolded playing repeatedly in my head.
Before I knew it, school was over and I rushed to the front entrance to meet Bakugo. When I finally make it, I'm panting, and I look around. It looks like Kacchan isn't here yet, so I find a place away from the crowd to wait. I find a nice spot by a tree, put my stuff on the bench and sit down. I must've once again receded into my thoughts because I hadn't realized Kacchan had walked right up to me without my noticing. "Hey, Deku are we doing this or what?" I jump at the sound of his voice "O-oh, yeah!" I grab my backpack and we start walking to my house.
As we walk, I can help but smile and not just a small smile, I was beaming. Apparently it was noticeable enough that Kacchan commented "why do you smile so much nerd?" He grumbled. I blush, but my smile never wavers "I dunno, I really can't help it. I'm just so happy!" Somehow, defying laws of physics my smile widens, I look over a Kacchan and not only is he looking away, but I can see his cheek tinted with red, and the corners of his mouth tilt up. Astounded, I look down at my feet trying to contain my excitement, but I really can't. This is turning out to be one of the best days ever.
We walk a little longer, but after about 15 we've already made it to my house. I grab the key from in my bag and unlock the door. Once I'm in I call to Mom that we've got company. She comes down the stairs and I can tell she's surprised to see Kacchan here "Oh, hello katsuki! It's been so long, please come in." Kacchan takes off his shoes and leaves them at the front door. "You can just go up to my room Kacchan, you remember where right?" He nods and brings his backpack with him as I watching him disappear around the corner into my room. I breath deep. This is really happening. After all these years apart, Kacchan's actually here.Hey guys, sorry this chapter is so short, I stopped it here because I planned to have this next particular period of time be in Bakugo's POV.
Hope you guys enjoy, I know I did and expect more in the future
