I awoke with a start, the feeling of warmth fading as the chilling start-up of the Personal ID, a metal band around my wrist, pulsed through my veins. Swinging my legs off of my dorm bed, I roughly ordered, "Display." Expanding from the corner of my eye, a blue line stretched across my field of view, displaying daily and health information like age, 16, name, Sky ****, and one's Tera levels, Tera levels being one's magical-prowess.
My levels still lingered in the 100 to 900 bracket, or common-people bracket, meaning I'm only permitted for the use of lesser-magic and everyday magic. Unless I get into the 1000's or 2000's, which are soldier-class to noble-class levels, I won't even be able to land a decent paying job, at least not for my needs, nor start my studies in intermediate-magic.
With that off of my mind, I reached up to massage my head, vaguely remembering my dream. Flashes of milky-gold eyes formed in my mind, but nothing more. The time, being 5:32 AM, gave me a bit of a chance to get an early start to the day. Twisting the cold door knob, draining the last of the warmth from my dream, I stepped out into the "girl's" hall, even though it was a co-ed dormitory. Personally, I don't care for the trouble the guys cause, but the other girls prey on their mistakes... it's unsettling.
Taking another step into the hall and along the freezing concrete floor, my foot met with something furry, something warm. Looking down, a silver-haired Lynx, obviously magically conjured or summoned based off of the coloring of its coat, looked back up at me. Its milky gold eyes sent a pang of pain and... pleasure(?) running through me, as I stumbled down the hall to the showers, wondering why it was there and why its eyes were so familiar, so warming.
