Chapter 3: "Have you ever thought of getting revenge?"

❇❇❇❇

Its been three months since my downfall. Well I wouldn't exactly call it that, rather I'll prefer to put it; its been three months since they betrayed me.

Three months of going insane when I think of what they did and a million ways to have avoided it.

Three months I've been calling myself an idiot for not seeing it coming. I mean, it was so obvious. It was like they plastered it on each of their foreheads telling me I'll be betrayed.

Even Chloe was in on this. I thought I could trust her, she was my best friend. But I later found out she was jealous of me because I 'supposedly' had more popularity than her. It wasn't like it was a contest or anything. The things that runs through that girl's mind is beyond me, honestly.

Fortunately for me, I didn't find being among the 'normos' all that bad. I mean, I'm finally under the radar. Last time I checked, I couldn't gobble down my food properly with all eyes on me. It was as if they were learning how to eat, watching every detail of my process before eating theirs the same way.

At the end of the day, I'd loose my appetite not even getting to take at least three bites from my food. No wonder I lost so much weight the past couple of months.

But now, I could eat without being tense. Its not like the food here is good, but at least its gullible.

I entered into the cafeteria and grabbed a tray, joining in on the line. Good thing it wasn't long. It moved slightly as I scanned the cafeteria for an empty table. I saw Makayla waving at me at the table she was at, pointing to the seat opposite to her. I smiled as my turn had reached and I got a hamburger, apple and yogurt by the side.

I went over to the table, passing by what used to be my table among the cool kids. They didn't even acknowledge me, not like I was expecting them to. I don't even think they recognized me with the size too big hoodie I'm putting on.

Don't get me wrong, falling from up there did not make me insecure. I was always like this even when I was still in their group. Although, they've tried several times for me to change my style but to no avail. I'd like to think I was me in my own way, not theirs.

I settled down in the seat she had kept for me, taking a bite of my hamburger. Not bad.

"Guess what?" Makayla beamed, clapping her hands excitedly.

I rolled my eyes at her. She does this either when she's asked out by a really cute guy or when a bunch of transfer students comes.

"Got a date?"

She snorted, "I wish! But no. Two guys just transferred here and rumor has it, they're hot!" She whispered the last part, looking around to see if anyone had heard her.

"Rumor? So there's no evidence. Remind me how a 'rumor' got me here." I raised an eyebrow at her and took another bite of my burger as her mouth formed into an 'o'.

"Good point. Next time, I'll bring hard proof." She took a French fry from her tray and ate it, moaning with contentment.

"Don't make that noise. Its weird." I twisted my face into one of disgust.

She laughed, "Get over yourself. This is some good fry! By the way, I haven't seen your brother today."

Before I could reply, I saw a hand, my brother's to be exact, take out a fry from Kayla's tray, slipping in smoothly to a seat next to her as he munched of the fry.

I rolled my eyes. Here we go.

"Hey sis. Did I hear someone call my name?" He mused, attempting to take another fry but got hit by Kayla.

"No one did, Mitch. Get out, go play fetch with your team or something."

He put his hand on his chest, trying to look hurt, "You wound me, Kay. My presence here alone is a lump of appeal. You should be a bit more nice to me."

This happens almost everyday. I don't know if they enjoyed bickering non stop at each other but it somehow ends up badly. They would leave on bad terms and when they see each other again, bam, its like nothing happened. Only God knows what these two have been up to.

"Appeal my ass. I would prefer Mucus over there sit here in place of you." She pointed to a guy picking at his nose and experimenting on it like its some sort of foreign object.

Um.. Cough weirdo cough

"You're joking right? That would be the worst mistake you'd ever do."

"Probably but it would be so much better than you."

Ouch. Hit the spot right there. I knew she was only playing around but I think she took it far. I looked to my brother and saw a look of hurt flash on his face, but the split second it was there, it was gone.

He stood up slowly, "Maybe it is. See you around, sis." With that, he left the table making his way to his group of friends and quietly sat there.

I turned my gaze to her, "Don't you think you took it a little bit too far."

She shrugged, seeming uninterested, "Whatever. He'll get over it later."

My gaze narrowed at her. Something's fishy. Whatever happened between these two isn't good. I was just about to ask her a question when she suddenly clapped her hands, her bright blue eyes twinkling mischievously.

"Have you ever thought of getting revenge?"
