        It had been 2 years since his sister Mary had been born and since his mother died giving birth to her. Ever since that day, everything went to shit, EVERYTHING. Silass couldn't sleep at night anymore, he was worried that something would happen to him, or more specifically, would his father would do to him. Only a few weeks after the birth of his sister, his father, Mark, lost it. He started drinking every night and got fired from his job at the C.I.A. due to lack of concentration and random, uncontrollable, violent outbursts.

      They now live in an apartment building in the middle of nowhere due to the fact that his father has about 237 dollars left to his name. Silass got a job out in the city that he bikes to every morning at 7:45 sharp, the city is about 5 miles away from their home. Silass puts Mary on a seat on the back of the bike and brings her to work because their father is rarely ever home and Silass doesn't trust him around her.

                                                                                               * * *

      The day was like any other, Silass woke up to his alarm 7:15, did his morning routine, got his sister out of bed and headed out. Work was fine, a couple people complained that he didn't put enough lettuce on, but he was just following the SubWay handbook. He picked some Stoffers mac n' cheese for dinner and headed back home. The ride home on the other hand was a lot different.

       Mark's car was on the side of the road about a mile away from the complex. "Why stop here?", Silass thought to himself. Then he noticed something that practically slapped him across the face, the car was one with a telephone pole and it was smoking. Silass rode over to the window of the vehicle as fast as he could, no one was there. He sighed a large sigh of relief and pedaled home quickly so he could take Blue for a walk.
