You walk to your bedroom door and rest your hand gently on the knob, it's ice cold against your warm skin. You pause for a moment, thinking; 'do I really want to go down there?' You swallow and close your eyes calmly speaking to yourself like your therapist suggested.
'Alice, go downstairs, eat breakfast, take your meds, go to school.'
But why
You grit your teeth and lay your head against the door. 'Because I have a life to live.'
It's not worth it
You pull open your bedroom door fiercely to shut up the little voice in your head.
Go back to bed
You walk downstairs into the hallways your stomach churning and twisting. You look up from your feet to the kitchen where the smell of warm bread comes from, and then to the living room where the dull drone of the morning news comes from.
