Life beats you up
Drags you around and throws you in multiple directions
But love is worse
It throws life itself off balance
Light hearted feelings lie
Making you infatuated with worthlessness
Deep-rooted love uprooted causes devastation
On a multitude of levels
I should know
I was foolish enough to fall for both
In rare instances
It isnt always you
Its the thing you love most
That can cause pain
Enough torture that you're on the brink
Of succumbing to darkness
To wish you could backtrack
But where would you go?
And who would you be?
Yeah, sure, it hurts to see them
And yeah, that song sounds sadder than you remember
But your past doesn't define you
It shapes you
So take your heart
Maybe long broken and destroyed
And hold it close
Because you are still you
That relation is over
And you still remain
