Grace "Ramono Pack: Book 1"

Chapter 1 : Grace

Slow down Grace. I tell myself. 

I stop running and lay down by a small creek. I wish I didn't have all this fur during summer. It gets to hot and I can't run as long and fast as I want. I pull my wolf back in. It's gotten easier over the years but sometimes I still feel a little pain. I stand up and jump in the creek to cool down. I lay back and float on my back.

Mom would've loved this. It was her time though. She missed my dad so much after he died. My mom and dad were both Alphas. They lead a pack until I was born. I was born Omega. They weren't embarrassed or anything, they wanted to protect me. Omegas are the peace keepers. They're also taken advantage of too. They didn't want that for me. I had a happy childhood but it always sucked keeping my other half a secret because humans didn't know about shifters. Well some humans. I told my best friend Kia when I had my first shift. Well more like she found out. I was at her house and it just happened. She helped me through. That was when I was 7. Now 14 years later we're still together. 

Speaking of I better get home before she freaks. We just moved to Madison and Kia is still getting used to a new place and doesn't trust people. I get out and grab the bag I brought with me. I dry my body off. My classic ivory skin gets goosebumps when I hear a howl. 

I knew there was a pack in town but I learned how to hide my sent. I start pulling on my clothes when I hear another howl but this one is full of pain. 

I start running towards the howl. I see a female wolf in the middle of three other female wolves. That's no fair. I breath in and I can tell that the wolf in the middle is and Alpha. Her coat is red and beautiful. It's like she senses me and flicks her eyes toward me. I just freeze. My body starts heating up. 

What's happening? Why do I have butterflies for her? I've never been this attracted to a female before.

The others notice me and the leader snaps at the Alpha. Red snaps back and the leader starts to leave. The other two follow. The red wolf becomes a human with long red curly hair and bright blue eyes. She's a little taller than me and has a pear shaped body. Her skin is tan and the longer I look at her the more my body heats. 

She's sizing me up when her eyes hit mine my wolf whines. Surprised I cough to cover it up.

She laughs. Caught.

"I'm Emily." she says, "Thanks for showing up. Kelsey is getting to be too much."

I keep my eyes down. "I'm Grace."

"So Grace, why are you hiding your sent?" She asks innocently.

My eyes fly up. "I-I...."

Her eyebrow rises. "If you don't want to tell me that's okay, but I will have to tell my mate."

I close my eyes. She's taken. Okay, So I'm attracted to a taken female. What is going on!? I like guys. Can I like both? 

I breath in. It'll come out eventually. "I'm an Omega."
