Chapter 2: Grace

Emily smiles. "That's okay. Don't be nervous. We're not like other packs. We protect Omegas. We do have to tell my mate that you're here."

I bite my lip. "I also have a human with me." I whisper.

Her smile falls. "A mate?"

My mouth falls open and I studder. "No. Kia-Kia is my best friend."

Her smile comes back. "Good. We're okay with humans. People in town know about us. We keep peace." She walks closer to me. Her sent hits me.

Honey. I love honey. I smile. She has a mate. My wolf whines again and my smile falls. She stops about arm length away. 

"Why don't you come to the pack house later with Kia? The sooner my mate knows about you the safer you'll be." She said it in more of a domintive voice telling me it's a command. 

I back away. My wolf isn't use to commands. My mom and dad always let me make up my own mind so my Omega wasn't dependent on an Alphas help. I knew she wasn't trying to scare me but I am scared. What if there's someone in the pack that doesn't care and takes advantage of her. Or worse what if something happens to Kia? I would never forgive myself. 

She she's me cowering. "Grace I didn't mean to scare you. I'm just worried about your safety. We'll protect you and Kia."

"Okay. But if I or Kia feel unsafe we can go home." I say with my back straight.

She smiles and claps her hands. "Yay. Okay. I'll see you later." She hugs me and my brain now remembers she's naked. My wolf beems with happiness. She lets go and smiles. "I know Trenton will be happy to meet you."

Oh yeah her mate. Fuck my feelings. "Mmhm." I say. She calls her wolf out barks and leaves. I follow her lead and head back home.

I walk in the kitchen and pull my wolf back. 

"Grace! I've been worried!" Kia says running in the kitchen. Kia is about 5'2" and has long blonde hair and her eyes are ocean blue. She's small and looks like she could be 16 when she's really 21. She's wearing a Mulan shirt that says "Girls kick butt too." with black leggings. She's so cute. Kia had some problems growing up and sometimes acts younger than she is. We researched and she regresses in age when she gets scared or nervous. When it happens I take care of her. She's like my baby.

"I was running and ran into a 3 on 1 fight." I say taking a bottle of water from the fridge. "Come to find out the 1 was the female Alpha."

Kias' eyes widen. "Do we have to leave now?"

I smile and hug her. "No. They protect Omegas." I pull back and remember I'm naked. I slip my clothes back on. 

"What about me?" She asks. I can hear the tears in her voice.

I pull her back to me and hold her. "Kia, I will never leave you. I told Emily about you. It'll all be okay. I might be an Omega but no one will hurt you."

She hugs me close. "Thanks G. I don't know what I would do without you."

I kiss her forehead. "Same." I let her go and take another drink of water. 

She smiles. "Emily huh?"

I freeze. "Umm yeah that's the Alpha females name."

She rolls her eyes. "Mmmhmm."

I roll mine back. "Okay so I'm attracted to her for some weird reason. I like guys but something about her pulls me in. To bad she has a mate."

She laughs. "Maybe her mate likes to share."

I spit out the water I had in my mouth while she laughs. "Funny. I'm gonna go get dressed. We have to go to the pack house and meet the alpha."

That makes her laughter stop.
