she was alone. she ran a café alone, no staff or anything of such. her café was located in the city, but the bad part of the city. no kids were running around, just drunk men coming in to crash and order pastries. as well as women coming in, ranting to her about how bad their boyfriend/husband is. she could never relate.

somin was more of the introverted person. she gave the customers what they wanted, then went back to minding her own business. today was unusual. throughout the day, no women came in, no men came in. it was empty. but, it gave her time to do nothing. it was currently 8:30 pm, 30 minutes till closing time. somin was about to close shop early, but a man came in. he seemed sober. "hey cutie, can you make me a coffee?"

'typical.' somin sighed, stacking up the chairs at one table. "coming right up, sir." it was normal hearing those stuff, wether it be coming from a sober or drunk mouth. she had heard it all.

as she was heading to the kitchen, the man stopped her. she was pushed up against the wall next to the door, and she could feel his hot breath trickling against her neck. it was a terrifying moment. "cutie, you should know it's polite to look people in the eye. how about i teach you some manners?"

somin was too afraid to move. it was like she was frozen in place. his lips touched her neck, and that's when she finally moved. she pushed him back, maybe a little to hard. the mans head hit the corner of the counter, and his head started to bleed. the girls eyes widened, as she ran over and checked if he was still alive. "sir? sir!" no response. "oh my gosh.. no, this can't be real.." she killed someone.

no matter how many towels she wiped the blood with, it was endless. somin gave up on cleaning it. it was useless. as she stood up, she looked at the lifeless body in front of her. she did this. she took his life, and she didn't mean to. 'i have to leave.' she decided. quickly, she grabbed her phone, charger, her backpack with some spare clothes, and the keys to the shop.

never in her life has she experience something like this. it was surreal. in the worst way possible. somin locked up the shop, then sped walked away. as far as possible. her hands still had visible blood stains on them, and she forgot to clean them. she wandered off into the city, watching people have fun with their friends. as she walked in the middle of the street, a car was speeding. and it was coming straight at her.

preparing to get hit by the car, it immediately hit the brakes. looking at the driver, it was a male. he got out of the car, and saw how distressed she looked. unlike any other girl he's seen in his life. "are you okay?" he asked.

"i would say i am, but i would be lying." somin said quietly. she never really talked, she had one friend who was overseas, attending a language school in china.

the guy looked down at her hands, and saw the blood stains on them. he raised an eyebrow, curious of how those got there. but, they were standing in the middle of the road so he wanted to move. "get in the car."

she frowned, but did as he said. somin sat in the passenger seat, and put her bag in the seat behind her. the guy passed her a wet towel, motioning for her to wipe her hands as they drove away from the busy city.

"my name is kim hyojong. call me e'dawn." he introduced himself, not even taking once glance at her.

"han somin." she replied, carefully wiping her hands with the towel. somin looked at hyojong's face, and saw cuts on his face. she assumed he got into a fight. "where are we going?"

hyojong chuckled at her quiet voice. "you killed someone right? on accident, i'm assuming." she nodded slowly, and he clicked his tongue. "the police will be at the scene wherever that happened. and you don't look fit for jail. you're lucky you're with me. i'll help you hide from the police, as long as you do the same. okay?"

"what did you even do?" somin asked. she didn't even know this man, yet he's helping her out.

"what did i do? nothing as bad as what you did, but i'm a thief, i sell things that aren't supposed to be sold, stuff like that. the police are onto me, and a few gang members as well, so let's hide together, alright?" hyojong explained, parking the car behind a huge building that looked abandoned. "i know what you're thinking. 'it looks gross'. don't worry, i fixed up the place to make it comfortable. it's just like an apartment. did you bring clothes?"

the two walked into the abandoned building, up a few floors, then reached where hyojong was hiding. it looked like where she was staying, probably even better. "uh, i have a few pairs of clothes. but, not a lot."

"i guess we have to buy some tomorrow. for now, just go to sleep. the beds over there." he pointed to a room, with a bed, dressers, modern furniture, and a mirror.

"we're sleeping in the same bed?"

"you wanna sleep on the floor?"

"no."

"then news flash, you're sleeping on the bed with me."

"fine."

"just use my shirt for pajamas. do you have shorts?"

"yeah."

"are they pajama shorts?"

"yeah."

"okay, then use those."

"okay."

"goodnight somin."

"aren't you gonna sleep too?"

"i have stuff to do."

"okay. goodnight hyojong."

"e'dawn."

"hyojong."

"whatever. go to sleep."
