it was early morning. 6 am, to be exact. somin heard shuffling next to her, and remembered she and hyojong slept next to each other. he was still asleep, but she wasn't. and she was hungry. slowly making sure she didn't wake him up, somin got up, put her glasses on, then wandered around the place. she was looking for the kitchen, because she didn't even eat last night.
"what are you doing?" a voice asked, making her flinch in surprise.
she turned around, and saw a messy haired hyojong. "i thought you were asleep." somin was unaware of this, but he was checking her out. she looked cute in his shirt. it was unusual, he never found the girls he had over cute.
"well, you woke me up. want to eat?" hyojong asked, leading her to the kitchen.
the girl nodded, and sat at the table. she watched him grab out two bowls and then pour some cereal and milk into them. he handed one to her, then kept one for himself as he sat across from her. "thank you."
"mhm." hyojong watched her eat, observing her features. "so," he started off, earning the attention of somin. "what happened last night? how did you kill someone?"
somin bit her tongue, deciding wether or not to tell him. she could hear his foot taps, and she sighed. "well, i was almost forced into something i didn't want to do. it was along those lines, and when he got to close that's when i pushed him. and that's how he hid his head on the corner of the counter, then bled to death."
"i see." he nodded, and continued to eat his cereal. the rest of the time was silent, and she didn't like it. but, she didn't know how to start up conversations properly, so she kept her mouth shut. as hyojong finished up, he looked at her once more before getting up. "get ready after you're done. cause we're gonna go shopping for your needs or whatever you call it."
"okay." somin placed her bowl in the sink, planning on washing it later. she grabbed a plain white t-shirt and jean shorts out of her bag, then a pair of socks. she changed into that, in the bathroom of course, then came out and slid on her huaraches.
as she was folding some of her clothes and putting them back into her bag, hyojong handed her a mask. "wear it."
"why?" somin frowned, but put the black mask on. was he famous or something?
"do you want to get seen by the police?" looking at her face, it was an obvious no. "that's what i thought. let's go."

hyojong and somin finished buying her clothes, then they went on to personal and hygienic needs. somin was looking for a toothbrush, when suddenly she heard hyojong mumble 'shit'. "something wrong?"
he didn't answer her, instead he pulled her arm, tugging her towards the exit. she dropped the toothbrush on the floor, but she kept a safe grip on her bags. "run."
"what?" the girl stood there, confused on why he told her to run. "but we didn't even-"
"just run!" hyojong was getting impatient, so he grabbed the arm without the shopping bags, and ran. she almost tripped over, but caught herself and ran with him.
for what seemed like hours, which only happened to be minutes, the two of them hid in a small alley, close to the mall. "are you okay?" he asked, trying to catch his breath.
"obviously not. why the hell were we running?" somin said sarcastically, dropping the bags to the floor, then sliding down the wall and plopping down on the concrete.
"it was those stupid gang members. i told you, they're onto me. i have some stupid debt to pay them." he did the same, sitting vertically across from somin. "sorry for making you run."
"it's fine." she shook her head, and closed her eyes. the sun was still out, and it was humid. just as her breathing went to back normal, an unfamiliar voice spoke.
"thought you could run?"
