It was a nice, cool, winter day. Weather was perfect. Great conditions for a nice calm hike. So Kyle and his family had decided to go out on a hike. The hike was long and very steep. Very rocky, it faced toward the sea. Halfway through the hike, the trail got very thin, and Kyle's family had to start putting their backs to the wall. "I'm tired, daddy" Kyle had said without hesitation. "Kyle, do you need me to carry you?" Asked his father, Tyler. "Can you give me a piggyback ride?" Kyle had said with much enthusiasm. As his dad picked him up, he felt as if nothing could disturb him. Nothing could ruin his day, nothing could bring him down. He had felt very safe, secure, while resting on his father's back. He knew his father would never let him down in the face of danger. His father was Batman and he was Robin. His father was the one that helped him learn about nature, and how to survive in the world. As the group was nearing a very narrow trail, something terrible had begun. All of the sudden whole load of rocks had fallen onto Tyler. The first few had little to no effect on Tyler, Kyle had been clinging onto his dad as if he was being sucked into space. After that first wave of rocks, another wave, much stronger came crashing down onto them. The force of these rocks had been strong enough to knock Tyler and Kyle down in the deep deceiving blue water. Jagged rocks, and very powerful waves. Tyler had been thrown off the ledge and toward the sea, Kyle still clinging on his back. "Is this how I'm going to die?" Kyle thought to himself as he screamed for dear life. "I can't die because I was thrown into the depth of the sea, onto the really sharp rocks, in those crashing waves." Kyle's heart beat profusely. He didn't want to die. "What would happen to my mother? What of my brother?" Kyle was clinging onto his father's neck, choking him. Everything seemed as if it had slowed down, Kyle saw his life flash before his eyes. His father would do anything to save his son. Racing through his mind was "I must save my son. I don't want to lose him. I won't lose him." Suddenly everything returned to normal. Miraculously, Tyler had caught the edge. Everyone was safe. Kyle was so scared. He was still screaming, even though his father had caught the edge. Rocks had still been falling on them, but they were no danger...this time. Kyle had been clinging his father's neck so tightly. Once he stopped screeching, like a pterodactyl, he made one mistake. He made the mistake of looking down towards the depths. He suddenly felt weary, and proceeded to scream again, even though he felt weal, he wouldn't let that decide between life and death. Out of nowhere, a hand reached out grabbing Kyle, pulling him to the trail. Suddenly, the world didn't seem blank, he had returned to reality. Everything was so beautiful, every little piece of nature. After raising him up, his family had begun raising Tyler to the trail. After walking a little more, they reached an area full of green grass, flowers and Pine Trees. It was getting late, and the group parked on the opposite end of the trail. A car had driven by, and Grandpa, a.k.a. Michael, had asked them for a ride to the other side. They had agreed, and he left for a bit. As he went to the truck, they waited in a roundabout. In this roundabout, they saw a few white tailed deer. As the night grew longer, darker and colder, all they saw in the distance were the headlights of a Ford F-150.
