Chapter 7: tell me

~Previously~
Kuro got to meet the 7th servamp and its eve who was actually his cousin, while discussing their problem, Kuro was informed that he is actually a true owner of Mahiru. "Mahiru is there something you are not tealling me?"

Narration
Kuro looked at Mahiru who was looking away from his gaze "Mahiru please tell me" Kuro pleaded making the guy flinch like he was hurt to say something "Mahiru he needs to know" Misono said annoyed "Mahiru please?" Kuro pleaded making Mahiru sigh "Ok I'll tell you...." Mahiru said

Mahiru's POV
~flashback~
The 7 servamps are originally intrusted to 6 families by the creator of the servamps 2 for the Aleicenes, 1 for the Hiroshis, 1 for the Takeshis, 1 for the Yamazakis, 1 for the Fukushimas, and 1 for the Kurosakis. And I was entrusted to be the servamp of the Kurosaki family, Kuro's family. I've been serving the Kurosaki family for many generations that I can't remember what my names were, then the time I had to serve Kuro's grandfather came.

His grandfather, Keichi, was really kind, honest and smart. But I became his servamp at the same age as Kuro at that moment, he witnessed his own parents die infront of him, we were attacked by some monsters, I did everything I could to protect my eve, his parents, but they were just too many. Keichi witnessed how dangerous it is to be an eve of a servamp, but he didn't thew me away even if he knew his life would be in danger "It's simple we need to stick together, so protect me ____ ok?" Keichi said with a smile as he gave me a gift and giving me a new name forming the new contract making me burst into tears as the guilt was still there, I watch him grew until he finally found a special person to him, and that's when everything change.

Apparently he hasn't gotten over the fear of the danger being an eve of a servamp, especially the danger his family would go through. And when he learned that his wife was pregrant with Kuro's father, his fear doubled "____ please I beg you, don't invovle my family in this chain of eves, please let me be the last to form a contract in the Kurosaki family, find a new host family, I beg you" Keichi pleaded as he cried to me, I couldn't reject his plead since the guilt and regret was still lingering in my non existing heart, I was the reason why his parents died, so I nodded in agreement "Don't worry Keichi you'll be my last eve in the Kurosaki family, but I can't cut our contract, so until you die I'll simply stay away from your family but I will still protect your family from a distance, your son and wife wouldn't know my existence at all" I said with a sad smile and from there on I promised myself not to form any contract with humans ever again, but I kept that to myself, I didn't tell anyone, even Keichi who was my dearest friend , and thus Keichi wife gave birth to Kuro's father, he grew up without knowing any knowledge of servamps and my existence, I still kept on protecting them from monsters from a far, even when Keichi died, still I protected his son but without forming a contract, just protecting him in the shadows with no interaction at all, I watched him grew up as well and watched him find his love, but after years of protecting him from a far and with me not forming a contract with anyone slowly I can feel my powers getting sucked out of me.

Then came the car accident of Kuro's parents, I was supposed to save them but, I came too late, I failed another promise to my dearest friend, and with years not drinking blood from my eve I beacme powerless to the point only my transformation works. But still I was glad that Keichi's grandson was alive and safe.....

Narration
".....and with my remaining power, I kept on protecting him from afar, then the time Kuro saw me injured from the fight I actually wanted to run away cause I felt like I've broken my promise to Keichi, but I have no strength, and now we're here. I'm sorry Kuro, I just didn't want you to know that I was the one who brought misfortune to your family" Mahiru said with a sad smile as he burst into tears remembering the painful memories, Kuro immediately hugged the servamp trying to calm him down "Hey calm down it wasn't your fault. No one wanted that to happen" he said as he tried to calm his servamp down "So that's why we haven't heard anything from the Kurosaki family for years" Lily said finally realizing why they don't attend meetings like they used to, "But Mahiru now is different I can see that Kuro isn't that much of a weakling" Misono complemented "Mahiru you can't just protect him, you need his help in this too" Lily said as he ruffled the hair of his cousin who was still hugging his servamp, making the teen annoyed more than ever. "Ok now let's start by giving your eve his weapon" Misono spoke as Mahiru calmed down, "My weapon?" the teen asked clueless of what the other servamp was talking about, "Being an eve also gives you access to a certain weapon your servamp will give you, which is referred to as lead" Lily said with a smile "Kuro you ready?" Mahiru asked nervously, "Uh Y-Yeah" the teen replied having no idea what he must do

      So there you guys have it, another chappy kinda running out of ideas how to finish it already, but I promise I'll be finishing this book.
