I hugged Chris for over ten minutes. I called in and took off of work. Today was a good day to that because they needed to start writing the new script anyways and Greg had gotten sick. I unwrap myself from Chris and walk to over to the couch. When I get there I sit down and cover my mouth.

"Melissa-"

"How could he do this to me? I did nothing wrong!"

"You didn't get all the papers out."

"What?"

"He wrote you a letter."

"Oh great. Let me see." He handed it to me and I unfolded it.

It read,

Dear Melissa,

I know I had no reason to walk out last night. I am sorry. I thought you were cheating on me and the truth is, I was cheating in you. I don't want to tell you her name just yet because you used to be friends. I know I screwed up our marriage, I know I screwed you up. I am sorry beyond you know. I guess I should tell you why I am getting a divorce if I am this sorry. I was so sorry for leaving last night, I decided to come back and face you and tell you the truth. I walked inside and saw you and your new co-worker and you cuddled together on the couch. I guess I was right huh? You were cheating on me. I went away so you and him could wake up together. It took all I had not to punch him last night. Maybe this is for the better, or maybe you're just a slut. Either way, we're over. I'll see you in court today at four.

I stared at the letter for a while not doing anything. I kept repeating the same phrase in my head. Or maybe you're just a slut. I threw the paper down and got my phone to dial his number.

"Melissa, what's wrong? What did he say?"

"Nothing."

"Can I read it?"

"Knock yourself out."

"Okay." He walked back over to the couch to sit down and read. I could see him getting angry. By the time he was done reading, a man picked up the phone. Or should I say boy.

"Hello."

"Hi! Do you want to figure this out like civilized people or do you want to send more papers without even talking to me?!"

"I sent you a letter."

"Oh my God Blake! Why are you so selfish?!"

"I'm not the selfish one Melissa! You are! You were cheating on me too!"

"I WASN'T CHEATING ON YOU! CHRIS CAME OVER LAST NIGHT FOR A FRIEND AND SINCE YOU STORMED OFF WITHOUT AN EXPLANATION, I LET MYSELF SHOW AFFECTION TOWARDS HIM! I WASN'T DATING, SEEING, I DIDN'T EVEN LIKE HIM WHEN WE WERE MARRIED!"

"We still are."

"No we are not! I am going to sign these papers and meet you in court to settle this!"

"Whatever Mel."

"Don't call me that. You aren't allowed to call me anything besides Melissa Benoist!"

"Benoist."

"Well duh, I'm going back to my old name."

"Okay, whatever you want. It was always about you."

"No, it was never about me! You were the one that-"

"You are just a slut Mel, you never loved me."

"I LOVED YOU WITH ALL OF MY HEART. AND YOU TRAMPLED ON IT!" I hung up the phone and wanted to cry but I looked over at Chris as soon as I was done. He looked at me like I had just lost everything. He walked over to me and hugged me and we walked over to the couch. I laid down and everything just got cold. I was shivering.
