Chapter 5

          When we pull up to school everyone keeps on staring at us. Whatever. We ignore all of that. I say bye to the girls and start heading to class. The teacher was talking to me but I ignored them. I saw KJ and an empty seat beside him. I walk up to him but as I go to sit he says that the seat is taken. What is up with him. He is acting so ridiculous. I go to another seat and I see Cheryl go into that seat. Um okay. But then, she leans over and makes out with him. That's it. I stand up and walk out of class. This is so stupid. Everyone knows what Cheryl did to him last year and how she broke his heart so I have no idea what happened. I guess that kiss really did mean nothing to him. It meant a lot to me, but if he doesn't feel the same that's fine. I text all of the girls that I am leaving then chill at home for a while. Alexa, Areli, Jaime, and Brooklyn come knocking on the door and then we chill out for a bit. "So why did you leave school early?" they ask. I explain to them how KJ and I kissed then I tell them what I say this morning. The whole time they looked shook and mad at the same time. "Well whatever. Forget him. Let's get ready for the party." I say. Audrina Richard is throwing a party. Her parties are always epic and I know KJ is coming. That must mean Cheryl is coming too. Two can play at that game KJ. All of the girls get ready and then help me. We are all wearing cute spaghetti strap dresses in shades of red and rose and heels. We all were nude lipstick and brown smoky eyes. We take Areli's jeep and we head to Audrina's house. When we get there we can feel the music and smell the alcohol. We go in and I see KJ. He looks at me in a way. It almost looks, loving.
           Oh who am I kidding.KJ doesn't love me. If he did, he wouldn't have kissed me then gone back with Cheryl. Speak of the devil. Cheryl walks in and goes straight up to KJ giving him a sloppy kiss. I can't even watch them. I go to the kitchen and grab a drink. Reggie comes up to me and smiles. I have no idea where the girls are. Probably with their crushes. It's fine though. I see them finally and talk with Reggie. We are both obviously drunk but who cares. It's Friday night and I need to relax after all of the crazy things that have happened to me this week. "Wanna play beer pong?" he asks. I say yes and we go to the table. The teams are me and Reggie versus Audrina and Chuck. I see in the corner of my eye KJ watching me but I don't care. If he wants to be with Cheryl he can.
         After four more rounds of beer pong I go to the dance floor. I see Alexa with Joey, Areli with Charles, Brooklyn with Aaron I think, and Jaime is with Harvy. I go dance and then my song comes on. I see KJ kissing Cheryl but he is looking at me, so I start dancing with some random guy. I know it's petty but he deserves it. What kind of guy kisses a girl then gets with another one. I leave the random and go grab a drink.
          KJ left a long time ago and the party is pretty much over. I thank Audrina and start walking. I told the girls that they could leave because I don't really live that far. I start walking but I don't realize how cold it is until I am already gone from her house. This tiny dress doesn't make it any better. I see a car and it stops close to me. The windows roll down and I see KJ inside. He tells me to get in but I keep waking. Or at least I try to. The amount of drinks I have had plus these heels make me trip and fall. He opens the door and I get in. "What's your address?" he asks. I cannot go home right now. I also can't remember my exact address. KJ sighs before starting to drive. I fall asleep in his car and when we wake up we are at his house. I wobble inside and go straight up the stairs and onto what looks like his room. I don't care if I am mad at him or not right now. I take of my dress and find one of his shirts and put it on. I turn off the lights and curl into his bed. I hear the door open and the bed move. KJ and I. In bed. Together. I have to take a deep breath. I can see that he isn't sleeping. I don't know why but I roll so that I am closer to him. I swear I am catching feelings. I thought he was going to push me away but instead he rests his arm on me. It feels so comfortable, I just keep resting. The last thing I see before I close my eyes is his face. His eyes look tired, but they still watch me win this loving kind of look. I fall asleep with a smile, not worrying about what happens tomorrow, but just enjoying being in KJ's arms for tonight.
