aaron's pov
y/n hums and holds me whilst petting my hair. my eyes go back to normal and my phone buzzes. before i could grab it y/n picked it up and answered without checking the ID.
"hello?'' she questions and i hear a familiar feminine voice on the other line.
y/n's pov
i pick up the phone and question "hello?"
"hey there where's aaron? who's this he's not supposed to have friends over there. anyway can you had the phone o aaron? the family is getting together tomorrow and he's coming." the girl says.
"aaron's right next to me, i'm his girlfriend and will tell him now who are you?" i ask.
"girlfriend! i'm so happy that my little bro bro got a girlfriend! oh no does father know? oh uhm i'm melissa wonderful. you should come tomorrow too. i would love to meet you!" melissa explains and i can't help but to smile at her enthusiasm.
"i'll send him the message i can't wait to meet you too. goodbye see you tomorrow." i hang up as aaron perks up.
"see who tomorrow?" he asks urgency in his voice.
"your sister, melissa" i reply calmly. "she said there's this thing going on for your family. i'm coming too if that's fine by you of course." i explain. he nods but obviously on edge. "wanna talk?" i ask and his features softens as he nods. he explains how his whole childhood his older sister melissa was allowed to have friends and boyfriends and be normal as long as she hid her ears and tail. he however was forced to be seclusive to everyone around him, he was a threat. inable to be friends with anyone but found an online friend shu aka aphmau. i nod along and hum in sympathy in parts. i feel terrible for aaron as a child though my family life was rough i had a wonderful social life. the only reason we're even dating is because i was so persistant in being his friend and we fell in love.
timeskip
aaron was stressing big time as he tried fixing his perfectly fitted tie. i slap his hands gently away from his chest.
"stop you look fine!" i say slightly annoyed in how he's acting. i kiss his cheek and pull him along so we can meet up with his family at Hawaiin Grill (just googled fancy restraunts :P) when we get there the waiting game begins. we arrived around 15 minutes before said time due. soon after we're met by derek and whom presume is his wife in very formal clothing. about a minute after another girl melissa i bet comes up.
"i'm sorry my car wouldn't start. you must be y/n pleasure to meet you." she says in a rush sticking her hand out. i shake her hand trying to not be flimsy about it. "melissa" she introduces herself and i smile. "this is my mother, Rachel and father, Derek."
"yes i've met Derek before. wonderful to see you again, and very nice to meet you Rachel." i say keeping my voice sweet trying my best to keep my annoyance of aaron's father out.
"wonderful to meet you y/n. what's your connections with aaron? you know this was a family gathering not for a classmate."
"actually i'm his girlfriend. we've sorta talked about it to derek." i explain and i feel her gaze darken.
"yes we have and i believe i told you to not date eachother as aaron is not allowed to date." derek says his voice a dark growl.
"oh come on give her a chance! it'll be nice for aaron to have a girlfriend!" melissa tries saying and i smile.
"with all due respect i understand your concern and i know the danger but i promise i will help aaron with his emotions as i know that's the hardest thing for him to control." i say almly."
"he told you!" derek yells slightly as to not draw attention.
"yes but please dad she won't tell anyone i promise. she's the one i know it. please" aaron pleads and i hold his hand squeezing slightly as his voice quivers in fear.
melissa's pov
i try helping dad and mom to see that aaron deserves to be normal too. his whole life has been in isolation and he deserves this, eventually he would find someone anyone and would start a family. i truly want him to have a family and would love to become an aunt. i trust y/n. i don't know why entirely but i truly do trust her, a lot.
aaron's pov
as y/n holds my hand and melissa tries convincing our parents they finally give in but are still very pissed about the whole thing. i smile feeling excepted and not just a freak to this society. i feel y/n squeeze my hand once more and i look down to see her e/c orbs and smile.
"you're beautiful remember that aaron. you're not what people think you are, you're an amazing person." she says and kisses me gently and i kiss back.
she's right, i do belong.
