Chapter One
My names April and it's the apocalypse. I'm alone. My parents didn't make it. I haven't stopped driving since yesterday. All I can see is the dead and a building with with someone with.... a sign! I drove up the little boy and rolled my window down. "Hi. Are there any others?" I said. "Yes, a few. Come with me."
The little boy who's name is Charlie walked me into a room with only.... 14 people. "Please darling sit" said one man. As I sat they sat. "What is your name darling?" he said. "April...." I said. "How old are you April?" "I'm... uh... 17 sir" I said. God dammit April stop fucking shaking. "Well April this is Claire" he motioned to the girl on his left. "She will show you to yours and her room. Welcome to the shelter." "Thank you sir"
Claire walked me around to get clothes to where and extra. She then handed me a knife and said "use it when you feel harmed or when you need it. Woah April are you feeling okay? Your shaking really badly." Oh dammit I didn't think she noticed. "Yeah I'm fine I'm just in shock you know." I gathered clothes and we walked into forever 21. There were clothes racks as walls making a small room. She took out a piece of wood and told me to carve my name on it. When I finished she put it on the floor. "Put the clothes you just gathered on the rack and then go get some other clothes from around the store that for and put them all on the racks. It you want I can go get you a bunch of blankets?" " I would love that Claire thank you." "Of course. What color and how many?" Im guessing the color tell you who's place is who's. "Baby blue and 6. And can I get a pink blanket for the bed?" " Yeah. Now go get your clothes and I'll go get the blankets." I put my hair up into a bum and walked around the abandoned store and grabbed my clothes. I also grabbed a brush and ponytails. I really need a shower or something. After 10 minutes Claire came back with two big bags. She handed them to me and said "I grabbed clips so you can hang the blankets up." I smiled and started hanging up the blankets.
"Claire?" I said. "Yeah...." " How old are you?" she looks so young yet so mature. "I'm 17 just like you." when I finished hanging them up she looked at her wrist and said "oh it's already 6:00. Let's go, dinner time." I walked out of the dressing room and we walked out looking the gate behind us. When we got to the cafeteria two guys up to us. One kissed Claire and the other looked at me and blushed. He's so damn cute. "Hey, um.... uh.... I'm...." his friend cut him off "your Luke. By the way I'm Sam." I laughed and said "it's a pleasure to meet you Luke I'm April." We all got our food and sat down. "April you sure got my friend all quiet. He is always talking" said Sam. "Is that so?" I looked over at Luke and he didn't look so good. "Luke are you feeling okay?" He looked at me and said "I'm okay. April can I talk to you?" I got up and followed him. I really hope everything is okay. We stopped and he clenched his fists. "April can I tell you something?" "of course you can Luke." He put his hands in his pockets and a tear fell down his face. "Luke what is it?" he looked me in the eyes and said "did your parents make it?" " No they didn't. Only I did. Why?" "Mine didn't either. My brother actually did but he went crazy yesterday. He killed his girlfriend and almost killed me. I killed him." "Why are you telling me this Luke?" I said. Then all of the sudden he got closer and said "because I don't want you to think badly of me." "Luke I won't ever. You were only protecting yourself." He then started to lean in. People can see us so I pushed him and said "Luke people are watching." He smiled and said "are you full?" "Yeah." I said then he smiled and walked back to the table. "Hey I'm gonna go teach April how to shoot and protect herself." He said. What is he up too. "Okay just don't hurt her." Said Claire. "Oh trust me I would never hurt April" he said.
We walked/half ran to a bathroom. "Luke what are we doing in here" he closed the door and sat down. he patted the floor next to him to sit down. I sat down and he looked at me. "Your perfect April and I don't ever want you to be hurt." he said. "Luke if you like me just tell me." I said. He laughed "it's not that easy April." "Since when is it not easy to just say you like me or to just kiss me?" shit why did I say that. Right then and there he kissed me. He picked me up and put me on the counter. We kissed for what seemed
Like forever. He pulled his shirt off and then pulled mine off. We took our pants off and he just stared at me. "What?" I said "your beautiful!" he said. "Your such a freak." he began to take my bra off but I stopped him. "Luke" "yeah?" He said "do we have protection?" he looked at me and then looked at the bathroom vender. Be took his knife and cut the side out. He searched and searched. Then he looked at me "there is none" I got up and looked. He was right. " Whatever. If I end up pregnant you won't leave me. Right?" I said "no April I would never leave you. I love you april" he said. " I love you too" with that I unhooked my bra and slid it off. "Wow" then he slid my thong off. "Wow again" he took his tight boxers off and kissed me. "Are you sure?" he said "yes I want this." With that said he slid his dick into me. Within 10 minutes he came. And someone then pounded on the door. "Who is in there? Hello?" we laughed quietly and he grabbed a towel and wiped me. We got dressed and walked out. He held me in a hug till we got to my room. "That was great. Thank you." I said. "Yeah it was. Maybe we can do it again tomorrow?" he said "yeah we should. Well I better go. I love you Luke." I said "I love you too April." Then he kissed me goodnight and I unlocked the gate and walked in.
"April! What was that." Said Claire. "What's was what?" i said. "That kiss. Wait did you and Luke do it. Omg you did." She said. "I'm going to bed. Night. And maybe we did." "So your dating him. Awe you guys are so cute. Night love bird." "Night freak" next thing I knew she threw a pillow at me. "And so the war begins" and so for awhile we were tickle in and pillow fighting but then we were told to be quiet. So we stopped and went to bed.
