Try out day/He's back

It's try-out time for varsity and junior varsity spots. I don't need any distractions. I can't mess up. I need to make varsity. I'm already on the team.

"Alright ladies, lets get this show rolling, I need my upcoming seniors over here and my lower class men in another spot."

"Look at her, who does she think she is?" I remember that annoying voice from anywhere. This trick Sasha better not start anything with me.

I fixed up my camouflage purple bow. I can't look down. I always tell myself to never let my crown slip.

The cheer coach handed out numbers and mine was 17. I stepped over to an open space away from all the bad vibes.

I look over to my right and I see a girl staring at me. She really looks like she's staring into my soul, I just smiled at her. She kept bumping into Sasha, I think she's doing it on purpose.

"Hey watch where you're going!" Sasha said while sitting on the floor highly irritated. You could see that she was turning red. "You know what I don't have time for this, I quit." Sasha walked out the gym pissed.

I looked over at the girl and we both started laughing.

"Ladies you guys did awesome, better than team tryouts.. Tonight we will have the teams listed for who is on varsity and junior varsity. Congratulations in advanced to all of you ladies. Practices will be held after school on Tuesdays and Thursday's...our first game is in a week."

Man summer conditioning was hard I better have made varsity.

We all nodded our heads and walked to the bleachers to get our bags. I reached in my bag and got my phone. So many messages from Xavier.

4:30- Baby Xav💕: Hey babygirl I'm outside when you're done.

5:00- Baby Xav💕: Damnnn babe I kno u putting in tht fckin work mama. lol

5:13- Baby Xav💕: SHHIIITT I juss seen Sasha walk out and shes pissed lol what happened?

6:00- Baby Xav💕: Wait, baby when you're done. Stay inside don't come out.

Pause...wtf, what does he mean don't come outside.

6:12- Me: I'm scared Xavier what's going on.

6:14- Baby Xav💕: You're not going anywhere unless you're with me, do you understand me?

6:16- Me: Yes.

6:17- Baby Xav💕: I'm at the gym doors. Come on.

I locked my phone. I put it in my bag and walked to the gym doors. I opened them and Xavier was standing there looking like someone's father. I don't know what's going on with him. He's acting so weird.

He grabbed my cheer bag in one hand and grabbed my hand in the other. We walked outside the school to his car. But I saw someone standing near a tree. I narrowed my eyes and the person I've been running away from was standing there, all eyes on me.

I whispered and pulled and squeezed on Xavier's hand. "Xavier! It's C-Cayson, he's standing right there," I said that like he knew who the he was but by his face I felt like he already knew.

He opened the car door for me and put my cheer stuff in the back seat really fast. I put on my seat belt and put my head down. "Baby girl you're coming to my house tonight. Your mom already knows."

I just nodded my head. I was feeling a bit sleepy so I put my head on the window and closed my eyes.
