After the waters had calmed down everyone was resting in the hospital's halls.It had been hours but to some felt like years,centuries.
Todoroki couldn't stop thinking about Midoriya's state,about all the burns and marks on him,about the way he was violated,the way he broke down crying in his arms.He couldn't wait anymore he had to see Izuku fine.If only he could the green haired smiling again,laughing,hear him talking about everything and everything he wanted...That's al Shoto wanted.
"Todoroki?"
"Oh Uraraka,it's you.What is it?"
Uraraka sat down next to him and took a deep breath before starting to speak.
"Todoroki...I know it's hard for you,you are worried about him.The state we found him in ,it wasn't—it was horrible I know and adding up the other stuff we went through I figure you are very stressed out, we all are.But Deku wouldn't want you or any of us act like he won't make it.He will be alright.We just have to wait and hope for the best ,ok?"
Todoroki felt slightly better after hearing her talking and comforting him.He looked at her and gave her a little soft smile for appreciation,which rarely happened.
"Thank you,Uraraka.I wish you are doing fine as well,you seem very tired.Is everything ok?"
"Yeah I just came out of Kaminari's room,he is the least hurt of them all and will recover quickly.That's what the docs said."
"That's good to hear."
Then a voice was heard from down the hall.It was Tsuyu calling for Uraraka to help her with some food trays they had brought in.
"Coming Tsuyu!Oh and Todoroki"
"Hm?"
"You should rest too ok?I'll update you if anything happens"
"....ok Uraraka.Thank you"
And so she was gone,leaving Todoroki in his lonesome again but not as bad as before.He still had the hope Ochako boosted in him to keep him together.So he decided to wait ,wait for Izuku to come back to him.

"Hnnm...where...where am I?Everything is so white and bright,ah...I can't even move my whole body hurts.I...I don't remember...what happened"
"Young Midoriya?!Are you up?"
"A-All Might?Whag are you doing here?"
"OH THANK GOODNESS MY IZUKU IS AWAKE!"
"Mom...you too...where are we,why do I feel so weak,why"
"Now now Young Midoriya,"-said All Might while holding his shoulder and gicing him a comforting smile,-"you just have to rest for now.I'll go tell the doctors you are awake ,till then you can stay here with your mother."
Izuku gave a lazy nod as he looked at All Might leaving his room then down to his mom ,who was holding his hand a petting his hair.
"My little Izuku,my boy.You are ok,thank goodness you are ok"
"Mom..."
"Yes dear?"
"I...where are the others,my friends...we were at the arena."
"I know Izuku I know.They are all outside ,but you need to rest first."
"Ok mom,but I wanna see them after and make shre they are ok too."
"Of course Izuku,you will"

Finally ,after long long hours ,Midoriya ,his friends and Todoroki were united and together again.Sure,not in the same state as they parted but still together and happy in the way they were.
On the side of Midoriya's bed,Todoroki was sitting in a chair holding his hand carefras if it was about to break,looking deep into those green,beautiful eyes that were slowly being filled with life again.Does he remember? He thought to himself as he reached out one hand to caress Izuku's bruised cheek.
"I am so glad you are ok."
"Todoroki...You are ok too right?You weren't injured?"-asked Midoriya weakly while looking at him with a faded smile.
"Yeah,I am just fine.What is important is that you woke up,"-Todoroki smiled and held the boy's hand tighter,-"and that you are here with us again."
"Get a room idiots"-scoffed Bakugou while leaning on the wall and looking at the two lovebirds.But soon he would shut up,Izuku just had to play his card.
"Kacchan,why were you tearing up when the doctor came out of my room?"
He smiled softly at Bakugou and was counting down by himself for the explosion

"NONE OF YOUR DAMN BUSINESS STUPID NERD WHO SAID I WAS WORRIED FUCKHEAD?!"
"Noone did,except you right now dude"-said Kirishima jokingly in the back.
"YOU DUMBA"
"Thank you Kacchan..."
"Hm?What did you spout outta that mouth?"
Midoriya repeated himself,while having his big smile on his reflection despite his sad state.
"Thank you for worrying about me"
"...sure"
Katsuki sniled inside,just a tiny bit.
Still,leaving aside all the jokes and goofy stuff,Izuku had to know what had happened to him.He couldn't remember so he thought asking the others.
"Uh,guys?"
"Yes Deku what is it?"-replied Uraraka while coming closer to his bed.
Midoriya looked for a last time around the room and finally asked.
"D-do you know what happened to me?"
The room went quiet.Everyone was looking at each other as if trying to find the best answer to tell him.They felt at unease thinking so hard about a good response until Iida broke the silence.
"We don't really know Midoriya"
"What?"
"We found you when you were already unconscious,and right after we got Kaminari with us too who was in the same state as you.All we can tell you is that you were very injured,bruised and covered in burns.We"
Burns?...burns come after...fire...fire...Someone burned me after...before burning me...the pain in my back,my neck...my lips are all burning.I can't remember fully...It's so close
As Iida kept talking about how they found Midoriya Todoroki was holding back such anger and fury,but for the boy's sake he tried to hold it in.He tried.But trying doesn't always succeed.
"Midoriya you kept saying the name of a villian.You kept repeating his name all the way here.What the hell did he do to you"
"W-who?Whi is he Todoroki?"Villian...Tall figure,blue piercing eyes,burned skin...who who who is he dammit "S-Shoto I cannot remember"-Izuku had started trembling,struggling to remember that god be damned name.
Todoroki paused for a second and looked down on the floor before calmly saying the awaited name.
"...you were saying Dabi over and over Izuku"
Dabi...
He finally remembered.The whole scene flashed before his eyes terrifying him to death.He relived the whole pain of that moment each second he breathed,the burns in his body the bruises,his torn uniform,his suffocated screams for help.The name Todoroki said felt to Izuku like poison dripping from Shoto's lips.It burned like hell fire.
He did it.I remember.He-he ruined me...I lost to him.
"MIDORIYA SNAP OUT OF IT!"
"Huh?!"
"Deku you are shaking are you ok?!"-said Uraraka while placing a hand on Izuku's shoulder.
For a moment all Midoriya could do was mumble and whisper.Whisper and mumble.He was acting like a madman.Everyone was worried,Kirishima had already gone out to call the doctor and Izuku's mom,but Midoriya finally spoke.
"Dabi did it"
"...w-what did he do?"
"Todoroki,he took everything away from me."
The others started to get more worried.Todoroki held the boy closer and asked him quietly,knowing one wrong move could break Izuku all over again.
"Izuku,what did he take?"
"...my power,my mind,my soul,my body,my whole being..."-Midoriya slowly turned to look at Shoto with those faded green eyes,now red and filled with tears ready to drop as soon as he would speak-"I am no longer me Shoto...I lost"
And now I'll never win
