Chapter 19

The whole night I'm under the covers texting Ash until I fall asleep.

I groan as sun fills my room as the curtains try to hide it. I wipe my eyes and look over at the clock, 6:45 AM. I decide to get up and get dressed. I do my regular by taking a quick shower, then head over to my closet as I try not to stumble and fall, then grab whatever I could find. I cut long-sleeved mustard yellow shirt with navy blue overall shorts. I then blow-dry my hair and brush it so it looks neat. I head downstairs with my phone in my hand to the kitchen and make toast and coffee to-go.

As the toast pops up from the toaster Lui stumbles into the kitchen wiping his eyes and sits down at the table. I grab the toast and put it on a plate and put some toppings on the side with a butter knife and slide it to Lui. He starts to eat his breakfast and the coffee starts to pour into the cup. I decide to make one for Lui here and I'll find a foam cup for me so I can drink it as we walk.

Once both of us are all ready we head out the door and start the march to school. I pull out my phone and check my texts as I sip my lukewarm coffee. No new texts, Ash must have fallen asleep around the same time as I did. We make it to the school and I head straight to class so I can sit down and listen to my music. Around the same time Shu, Diago and Valt walk in and sit down. Valt's face was all wrinkled holding in laughter and I wondered why. My question was answered when Wakiya and Honcho start running in and collapsing onto the floor catching their breath. "I clearly won!" Honcho exclaims trying to get up on his feet. "In your dreams! I clearly won!" The bickering continued until the bell rang then there was just boring lessons.

"I'm so excited that this week is the last one of the school year students!" The teacher exclaims before she lets us have the 45 minutes to ourselves. "I'll miss you all!" mentally drop my mouth in shock. How long have I been here?! As we have our final minutes in class I stay in my seat listening to music, while the 5 go over to me and we all have a conversation. "So Shu you ready to take on Lui for the finals? I can't wait to see you win." I shift in my seat, who should I root for, my friend Shu or my cousin Lui? "When's the finals?" I say sitting up. "Tomorrow." Honcho says without a doubt. "Then I'm gonna go and watch it." I say looking at them, then at Shu smiling. "I hope you bring your A-game for him." He nods with a stern face.

The bell rings and school's over. Today I only hang out with Ash for a few hours since I should be getting home so I can text Shu about the tournament. I lay in my bed with my pajamas on and my hair in a ponytail texting him.

Shu: So what are you doing right now?

Me: I'm in my room laying on my bed texting you, what else am I doing that's important?

Shu: Maybe getting ready to go and hang out with me and the others?

Me: Yeah how'd you know I'm now getting up and going to my closet to find something to wear?

Shu: I'm magic.

Me: Whatever you say O' Wizardy one...

I find something that is comfy and lightweight for me to wear and head downstairs. I decide to leave a note on the kitchen table for Lui to say I'm out and about. Now I wonder where they are, the park maybe or the rooftop?

I'm in a car ride to the beach and the majority of the ride I'm in the backseat writing this just for you.
