(Selena's P.O.V.)
Today is Brent's birthday! Brent is my son. I quickly got up and prepared for his birthday. I made the cake, set up the decorations, and made sure all the guest would arrive on time.
As I was placing the finishing touches, Brent came downstairs rubbing his eyes.
"Hi Mom...." I heard him say
I looked up and smiled "Hey Brent," I said "Happy birthday!"
I walked over to him and gave him a hug. He smiled at me and whispered:
"Thanks mom...."
I smiled as I told him to get dressed, he ran upstairs and quickly got changed. A few hours later, the party was in full swing!
I hope Kendall doesn't come....I thought to myself.
Now you're probably wondering who Kendall is. Well, Kendall was an old boyfriend of mine and he forced me to do.."it"....16 years ago, he abused me because I didn't,and that's how Brent was born. I try to keep Brent away from Kendall. I don't want him to know that his dad used to abuse me.
As I was observing the party, I heard someone whisper in my ear:
"Did you miss me??"
I slowly turned around to find Kendall staring at me with an evil smirk.
I growled "What are you doing here...."
Kendall looked at me and whispered:
"Oh...I don't know....I was thinking maybe you and I could have some fun..."
I looked at him in disgust.
"No way" I spat at him.
I saw darkness flood into his eyes as he harshly grabbed my arm. I yelped in pain as he brought me back to my bedroom, he pushed me on the bed and he growled:
"You don't tell me no. Got it?"
I looked at him and I shot back:
"I don't want to do this!!"
All of a sudden I felt a shot of pain in my cheek as he lowered his hand. He lowered his voice as he commanded:
"Do as I say...or you will never see Brent again..."
I whimpered as I did what I was told. I can't believe this is happening to me again.....

9 months later
(Selena's P.O.V.)
I was in the hospital bed. I just gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Emily. Brent walked in and smiled. He softly spoke:
"Hey mom....she looks beautiful...."
I looked up and I saw tears in Brent's eyes. I patted on the bed, telling him to sit next to me. He sat down next to me and I noticed how he was admiring his little sister. I looked at him and whispered:
"Do you want to hold her?"
He nodded his head. As I was handing Emily to Brent, I was telling him how to properly hold a baby. When Emily was in Brent's arms, I could see happiness fill his eyes. That hasn't happened in a while. Brent smiled and whispered:
"Hey Emily.....I'm your big brother....I love you..."
I couldn't help but smile. I'm so glad Kendall isn't in our lives, but I'm so blessed to have Brent and Emily in my life. So I guess Kendall did me a favor and gave me the gift of having two beautiful children....
