'Cooking' the word rang in Zain's head once she heard about lunch. Even though she was still annoyed. She loved to cook, she rarely eats fast food, she always cooked for herself. She waited in her bed until the boys finally brought their lunch. They were amazingly able to hunt down and kill a deer, so she left her tent as soon as they arrived. She had a big excited smile as she felt like this was a speciality for her.

The boys put the dead deer in the middle of the camp by the camp fire, they looked at each other not knowing what they should do. Miss Christie had told them that this was supposed to be the last event of the camp, but she decided that she couldn't wait to experience cooking in the wild so she just made it the first day. Of course everyone had prepared food for three days as they would cook in one of the 4 days of the camp.

"Good job at hunting the deer boys, but who knows how to cook it?" Asked Miss Christie.

Zain had watched her mother cook a hunted deer from scratch as her family used to love to go camping, she helped her mother a lot back then until she memorized it in her heart.

"I know how to cook it!" Zain excitedly said.

"You sure?!" Miss Christie asked Zain.

"Yup!"

The others just looked amazed at this news and stood watching as Zain was doing her job. She knew that they would have to cook by themselves one day so she was prepared, her knives and cooking tools were all with her.

"We will need a new fire boys! Bring some branches and break them into smaller peices, I want a big place for grilling this thing!"

The boys did as they were asked and started bringing the wood and starting a new fire. Zain was working carefully, quickly and accurately with the dead deer, she was able to remove all of the hair of the deer, removed all the unedible inside parts of it and started cutting it into big peices. She had watched and worked on this kind of thing for as long as she remembers so she had no problems with it. Now that the deer is left with only the edible parts and the bones, she started cutting the deer into big peices using a chopper that she had brought with her from her house. Then using a big knife she made the peices needed, there were a lot of peices for steak, some peices to be fried and some others so that if anyone would like to try something new for themselves they will be able to.

On the oringinal camp fire she had someone bring a pan for frying. While the grill place was big enough for a lot peices. Zain brought with her a grilling net as well so she put all the peices on it and enjoyed the smell coming out of it, others who wanted to try things from their own started doing it while others just waited for the frying and the grilling to finish.

The smell was awesome, Zain had used only salt and pepper for the steak as this is what she had always done. She remembered her cousin that loved steak and was always thrilled to grill with her back when she was still a boy. 'come to think of it, I haven't heard of him for a while now....' she thought to herself.

"Zain!! When is it going to be ready! I can't control myself anymore!!" One of the boys shouted.

"Almost there mate! Just a few more seconds and it will be right in your mouth!" Zain replied back with an enthusiastic voice.

Zain peaked under the peices to see there bottom and then she smiled. Took them away from the fire and served them in plates. Everyone got a steak exept for the ones that tried things for themselves, although some of them did eat an additional steak..

"That turned out better than expected!" Zain said.

"I didn't know that you knew how to cook Zain! You surprised me!" Miss Christie said.

"Since I live alone, and for a long time now, I had to cope with it so I cook for myself. I used to learn from Mom as well back when she was here." Zain explained.

That was quite the feast for everyone, as the meat was extremely delicious.

"Thanks for the food Zain!" Ran said as a way to open up a discussion with Zain.

"Your welcome..." Zain emotionlessly said and went back to the tent.

Zain was still mad at what Ran
had done this morning. Ran just stood out wondering what can she do to fix this problem..

It was evening, everyone had a tiring day so they went to rest a bit in their tents. Zain brought with her a novel that she has been reading and sat on her bed reading more of it. While Leo took a nap. Moments later Ran came in with a piece of cake that she 'somehow' was able to bake and with a forced smile on her face.

"I-I'm sorry Zain.." she apologized "I didn't think you would react that way..." And then handed over the cake to Zain.

Zain looked at her then said "why do you think I wanted to go after everyone??"

"I know... I know... I just wanted you to get over it and get used to it.." Ran answered.

"And I don't want yet! I know the day will come when I'll be a full girl but not yet!" Zain said back.

"Well, please accept this as an apology... Will you forgive me?" Ran said regretfully.

Zain looked at the cake then at Ran then said "I will think about it."

Without a word, Ran left the cake and left the tent. Zain stared at the cake then started eating it, it was delicious. She started rethinking what happened and had a small argument with her inner self, does she forgive Ran or not? 'She crossed the line..' Zain thought 'but her intentions were good...' she argued back, 'she should have left when I asked her to leave' another thought came in 'but she didn't know I would get mad...' 'I shouldn't forgive her, at least not now!' .... 'but that would hurt her feelings...'

This went on for a while until she finished the cake without realizing. At the end she forgave Ran and decided to tell Ran when she sees her the next time.
