KARKAT POV.

Nepeta? What is she doing here?

":33< Is that the tree you chose? It looks just the right size and efurything!"

"ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A TREE TOO?"

":33< Yep! And I asked Equius to help me!"

At that moment, Equius came walking from behind a tree. He was carrying two trees. It wan't long until he saw you. "D--> G00d evening, Lowbl00d. I suppose you are also looking for a tree?" He spots the cut-down tree next to you.

":33< So Karkat... When is this Christmas Get-together thing?"

"OH... UH... DECEMBER 25th... AT MY HIVE."

She smiles her usual cat-like smile and leaves with Equius. ":33< See you then!"

You raise your hand slowly to wave goodbye but it doesn't move. You put your hand down and look back. The sun was setting. The sky was a flaming orange. You need to get home before dark. You start dragging the tree again. You step on something soft. You look down and remove your foot to find Nepeta's hood.

You stare at it for three seconds before picking it up. You carefully brush the dirt off of it. You decide to take it with you and give it to her later. Nepeta could be anywhere by now, so you'd rather wait.

You get this crazy idea all of a sudden. You roll your eyes and put on the hood. It was... really fuzzy! You sort of laugh a little. You probably look ridiculous.

":33< Hey Karkat! I dropped my hat can you--" She stops and stares at you.

She laughs, ":33< Karkitty! What are you doing!"

You blush in embarrassment and give her back the hood.

":33< H33 h33! Thanks!"

You don't talk. You're still pretty fucking embarrassed from what just happened. Nepeta skips away, cheerfully. You continue dragging the tree until you reach your hive. You start focusing on other problems, like how the fuck do you fit this fucking tree through your doorway and into your hive!

NEPETA POV.

Equius helps you with your tree. It would've been impossible without his help.

":33< Thank you, Equius!"

He nods and begins to turn around.

":33< Wait, Equius! Don't you want something to drink? We've b33n looking all day!"

"D--> No thank you... It's getting late, and I need to go."

":33< Aw... please just stay a little longer?"

"D--> We can play and help with the Christmas activities tomorrow. But for now, I must go."

Both of you wave goodbye and you close the door to your hive. You wonder how you're going to begin decorating the tree... You scratch your head and feel the fuzz of your hood. You remember Karkat's cherry colored blush, having your hood on before giving it back. You giggle. It was a funny sight. Not because he looked weird, but because he would never do anything like that!

You're beginning to wonder if he's starting to feel the same way you feel...

But you can't keep your hopes too high.
