I'm not what people expect when they die. They expect a tall, scary-looking guy with a black cloak and a scythe. Instead, they get a dorky teenager who likes science puns. They usually are sceptical, not believing that I'm really Death. That's what happened this time.
As I walked through the darkness, to where the 'dead' person was, I prepared to be made fun of. From a distance, I saw a teenage girl, probably around my age, with hazel eyes and dark brunette hair. Wow... she really was pretty. I don't get a lot of pretty girls around here, most of the people that die are the elderly, so this was a surprise for me. I walked up to her, and noticed she had closed her eyes. Then... she opened them, and I could really see her hazel eyes. They were piercing, almost mesmerising. She looked shocked to see me, shocked to see a awkward teenage guy instead of the creepy Grim Reaper.
"Hi... errrr I'm Death. Welcome to 'death'", I muttered quietly. I was so embarrassed to not be what she was expecting
"You gotta be kidding. You're Death?!" She exclaimed, shocked. I felt my pale cheeks start to turn pink and I quickly turned away.
"Yeah... not really what you expected huh?" I said... I was so nervous. I've never been this nervous before talking to anybody... so why am I now?
She looked at me, up and down, making sure that I was real, and not some hologram.
"Sooooo... you're Death... How did humans get that so wrong?" She asked, looking at me dead (pardon the pun) into my eyes.
"Yeah... I am Death. I took over from my dad after he retired. He's actually the Grim Reaper guy" I exclaimed. I've always lived under my dad's shadow. Everyone expected me to be that scary, crazy looking guy, but instead, I'm just... a dork.
I took her hand, and started leading her to the Heaven and Hell doors. Her hand was soft... and warm, despite her being dead. It felt as if we were walking for hours on end... until finally we reached the doors.
