Love or Death

Hermione Granger is slowly dying.

She only has a month to live.

It's almost her 18th birthday, and on her 18th birthday she will die.

Well you see she is a veela. She knows who her mate is, but doesn't want him. She rather die than be with him for eternity

Her mate is none other than Draco Malfoy.

He was her ex-boyfriend 4 years ago

He cheated on her. He kept on saying he doesn't mean it, but she knows that  he was cheating. She knew he was cheating on her because of a humor. At first she didn't believe it, until she saw it.

What can cure her is his kiss. Her mate's kiss.

Draco Malfoy is slowly getting worried because of Hermione. Even though they broke up, he still loves her. He secretly watches over her.

But he noticed that these day she has bags under her eyes, she's very thin and pale.

He can't ask her what's wrong. He tried but she walked away before he could even start asking.

Hermione has Potions with the Slytherin after lunch. She wasn't paying attention to anything for the past weeks. What's the point of learning if you can't even use it later on?

Draco wants to find out what has been happening to Hermione lately. He bought Polyjuice potion to school, so he changed into Scarhead. He can't believe that one day he will be doing this.

He entered inside the dungeons and sat beside Hermione.

When Snape (yeah he's not dead) asked them to make the potion, she tapped his shoulders and asked him if he could just do the potion instead.

He nodded and brewed the potion silently.

"Hermione, can I ask you something?"
He asked her in a whisper

"Sure, what is it?" She looked at me and tried to smile.

"Why have you been very sad lately? You haven't eaten anything ever since we arrived?" He asked

"Oh, yeah, it's because of these veela things you know? I only have a month to live. And each day I am slowly getting weaker and weaker."

His heart was shattered when she explained what was happening. He's trying not to cry but a single tear escaped his eyes.

"Hey, Harry don't be sad, please? Here i'll just continue the potion, ok?"

"Can I ask another question?"

"Sure, what is it?"

"Do you happen to know who your mate is?"

She sighed "Yes"

"Who is it?" He asked

"Are you sure you want to know?" She asked him

He nodded

"It's Malfoy, but I rather die than be with him for eternity. That's because veelas are supposed to be with their mates."

"What's the cure?"

"My mate's kiss. But there is no way i'm kissing the ferret." She laughed softly.

Draco Malfoy was very sad that she doesn't want him anymore. But he understands. It was his fault anyways.

"7 more minutes and i'll be checking the potion." Snape informed everyone. 

"Here, give the vial to Professor Snape. Maybe he would dismiss us early." She said

After Snape checked the potion, he dismissed them early and then they exited the dungeons.

"Hermione come with me for awhile" He told her.

"Where?"

"In the Astronomy tower."

"Ohh ok.."

Draco put his cloak on so that Hermione can't see him. He was slowly turning to himself every step he takes

"What are we gonna talk about?" She asked Draco when they were in the astronomy tower.

"Us"

He slowly turned to her.

"Malfoy?!"

"Surprise... Hermione, why didn't you tell me in the first place? " Tears were streaming down on his face.

"Isn't it obvious?! I DON'T WANT YOU! You have caused me alot of pain in the past. I suffered. I almost suicide! I was thinking that maybe I wasn't good enough. I was thinking that I really am just a bookworm."

"YOU'RE RUNNING OUT OF TIME!" Hermione, love-"

"OH PLEASE DON'T CALL ME THAT! I rather die than be with a cheater."

"Hermione can I just kiss you? It's ok if you don't want me anymore, but I don't want you to go. Please." He pleaded tears were falling hard in his eyes."

"No... Even if you kissed me. I will still die later on."

"Why?!"

"After the kiss, we must act like boyfriends and girlfriend then marry. If you will marry another person I will die. Also if you cheated I will also die."

" Hermione, do you really think that I  will cheat on you again? Do you really think I am a cheater?"

"Yes, I still of it that way. Besides even if you didn't cheat on me, you will still be bethrothed to somebody. "

"How do you know that I will be bethrothed to somebody?" He asked her

"All rich, snobby people get bethrothed to people whom they don't like."

"But, I love the person whom I am bethrothed to."

"See, you will be marrying another woma-"

"And that is you."

"Excuse me?"

"You heard me. I'm bethrothed to you. No matter how much we will get separated. Fate always brings us together."

He couldn't take it anymore. He kissed her on the lips. He missed the feeling. And most of all, he missed her.

"Hermione Jean Granger- Zabini, will you give me a second chance?"

"Fine, but you'll have to gain my trust first."

"Ok, I love you."

"I love you too"
