lions

It was a bright sunny day when Mrs.Reed decided that Juniors should be divided into groups using the rigorous P-$ course.

The course was made up of 4 different obstacles.
First a 2 mile run,then there were some weights stacked in the corner,each contestant had to pick up 5 weights and take them to the other side and put them in the box labelled with your name,then we had to carry the boxes and there was an obstacle race in which you had to duck, jump and Dodge the obstacles and then came the Olympic sized pool.the box had to be left and the contestant had to jump into the pool and swim to the other side.

The first 10 contestants to finish the race would be accepted into the Lions.

The rest will know their results later.

"Come Serena let's go the race is about to start" Felecia yelled .

"Chill,I am right here no need to yell"I said covering my ears.

"Hey I would like to introduce you to Alex."Felecia said, a dark haired boy with brown chocolate eyes and cute dimples came forward.

"Hey I'm Alex jackson."he smiled.

I smiled back"Hi I'm Serena!"

" ready to get your butt whooped in the race?"he smirked.

"You wish boy."I smirked back at him. I never lose a challenge and I was not planning on losing this one either."

"Morgenstern, Jackson, woods,should we start the race without you?"Coach Reed shouted.

"Sorry coach, lining up"I said sheepishly.

"On you marks,get set,GO!!"

The race started I started at a jog because I Knew the 2miles was a long way and I would get exhausted.

The seniors we're looking at me in confusion as the rest of my classmates sprinted ahead of me.

Then I caught the eye of Aaron, even he looked confused but the wheels of her brain started turning and he smirked at me. Red covered my cheeks.

As soon I I was satisfied that I would be able to sprint the rest of the way I increased my speed.

The run was almost over I could see my classmates piling weights.

I quickly took 3 weights, I think they weighted about 10kg each and ran and put them in the box.
After all my weights were in the box,I lifted it and started running once again.

Dodging.jumping.ducking.
My brain processed the pattern

From the corner of my Eye I saw that I had already left most of my class behind.they all were panting and exhausted.Some looked like they were about to faint.

There were five people ahead of me.

Adrenaline pumped through my veins as I came side by side with Alex.

"I see you caught up nerd."

I raised my eyebrow at him and ran faster.the pool was in view now,as I came closer only 2 people were ahead of me.their speed was also decreasing now.
Reaching the pool I kept the box and tossed my t-shirt aside,leaving me only in my sports bra and shorts.
I could hers wolf whistles from the seniors.

Splash!

I jumped into the pool. I swam as much as I could and then came to the surface took a breath and swam again.I was utterly exhausted now.

I reached the end and then somehow I pushed my paining muscles and went out of the water . The finishing line was 100 m ahead.

I ran with the last bit of my will power and crossed the line.

I immediately collapsed on the group panting,wet and sweaty. My muscles paining with each move.

I saw a girl crossing the line behind me.wait a second.

Wasn't she ahead of me.

I turned my head around.

I had won the race!
I could hear everyone applauding.
