Gauri settled herself under the puffy duvet as the happenings of the day started jousting in her mind. Had she ever thought of witnessing her husband's engagement ceremony ? Had she ever thought of acting impassive before him when her heart would be bleeding ? Had she ever thought of being so much affected by his mere presence ? Had she ever thought to be kissed by him, the same man who once refused to acknowledge her as his wife ? Had she ever thought he would push her, once kissed and walk away like nothing happened ? All she could hear was her mind screaming a no as the answer of her questions.
Gauri Kumari Sharma never let herself fall weak before anyone, for anything. She never let a single person to have that authority over her sentiments. But the man, who is apparently her husband, has all the might to handicap her when it comes to moderation of emotions. He can make her feel cherished and detested at the same time. They say, if a person is capable enough of making you smile, then he definitely holds the power of hurting you. No doubt, Gauri has started believing in that myth. The moment Omkara pulled her towards himself, she felt butterflies in her stomach. His mouth and hands did wonders to her lips and skin. She felt cherished and loved. She felt goosebumps all over her body. Her heart was fluttered with the sensation while the body was turned on. But the moment Omkara pushed her and moved away, she felt like a dirt. She felt as if he detested her touch. She felt he hated her to be close to him. Her fluttered heart broke into pieces in no time. So without any controversy of heart and mind, she accepted that Omkara Singh Oberoi holds the place in her life to make her happy as well as dreary.
Again, she cursed herself for giving him so much importance in her life while he made her feel like a trash a few hours earlier. A set of fresh tears formed in her eyes as the thought pursued her mind again and again. Wiping them with the back of her palm, she took a deep breathe calming herself. She would ask him every question, driving through her mind. She would confront him and he would have to answer her. She deserves to know what he thinks of her and she would know. No matter what happens. The wait is till the morning.
A determined Gauri snuggled more into the duvet as she closed her eyes, trying to drift into drowsiness.
Gauri stood in a corner once she was done serving Svetlana's breakfast in her room. She watched the whole family eating together as her lips broke into a smile. The breakfast table of Oberois' is nothing less than a conference hall, with everyone presented gupping with each other, talking about several issues and sharing their conviction on the matters while sharing their morning meal. Kalyani Singh Oberoi believes, the family that eats together, stays together. So no one is allowed to miss the morning encounter. But Svetlana was like no other member of the family. She loves to do everything according to her wish and most of her wishes means to break the rules of the family and create chaos in peace. She still can't decipher how a man like Omkara could agree to marry a woman, rather should say an evil like Svetlana. She was drowned in her own whirlpool of thoughts when Anika called her.
Gauri moved towards the table as her eyes fell upon a clumsy Omkara. He turned himself into a bugaboo feeling her gaze. She stared at his face with no expression, before asking Anika. "Aapne humein bulaya ?"
"Haan. Khana serve karne mein meri thodi madad kar do." Anika said with a smile.
Gauri nodded and started helping Anika. Just when she came across Omkara to serve him another paratha, her knuckles accidentally brushed with his as both felt current passing through their spine. Gauri gasped at the sudden sensation while Omkara composed himself, not wanting to let her know the effects she has on him.
"Kya hua, Gauri ?" Anika asked seeing her mouth agaped.
"Kuch nehi." She calmed herself and watched Omkara with the corner of her eyes. He sat there stilled as if felt nothing. And before she could read his face thoroughly, she heard him speaking.
"I'm done." He said getting up and moving towards his room.
Gauri felt her heart sank into the stomach as she thought the mere contact of her body infuriated him. That was it. She cannot fight with her emotions anymore. She cannot let herself fall into the pit of melancholia thinking about what he feels and what not. She would question him now and there. "Hum abhi aate hain." She excused herself and ran behind Omkara to get the answer of her questions.
Omkara was looking for something in the side table of his bed when Gauri barge into the room. Omkara looked at her before continuing with whatever he was doing. The indifferent behaviour of him riled her up. "Humein aapse baat karni hain." She tried to get his attention, but went in vain when he didn't even spare her a look.
"Humein aapse baat karni hain." This time she almost shouted.
"I'm not interested." He left the room saying.
How would you feel if the person who used to run behind you, suddenly starts ignoring you ? Won't you be angered ? Won't you be bothered ? Won't you be hurt ? If yes, this is how Gauri was feeling to be ignored.
"Yeh jatadhaari hippie khud ko samajhte kya hain ?!" She fumed as her nose turned red out of anger. "Aaj toh hum baat karke rahenge." Gauri wended behind him. She saw him walking through the corridor, ready to cascade down the stairs.
"Rukiye." He heard her calling him, but decided to ignore. He was about to step out the staircase when she caught him by arms as arose before him in a second, forcing him to take two steps back.
"Humein aapse baat karni hain." She furrowed her brows, angered.
"Par mujhe nehi karna." His tone was stern and irrevocable.
"Aapko karni padegi." She challenged him, crossing her arms on her chest. "Hum aapko bina baat kiye jane nehi.." She couldn't complete her sentence as her leg slipped and she lost the balance.
Gauri closed her eyes, ready to roll on the stairs and embrace the cold tilled floor. But her eyes flickered open, feeling a firm grip on her wrist. She saw him holding her by wrist as her lips curved into a smile, realizing he has saved her once again. But her smile couldn't last any longer as he pulled her close to his body and she landed on his chest with a thud. Her heart thumped in her rib bone, eyes glued to the dark orbs of the man standing before her, which were oozing pain, anger, passion or something she couldn't decipher.
"Tumhaare dil pe jo chot hai..tumhaare dil mein jo dard hain..main uski dawa nahi. Main tumhaara marz hoon. Door raho mujhse. Agar qareeb aane ki koshish ki toh issi marz ki wajah se tabah ho jaaogi." He said, looking straight into her hazel brown eyes.
She opened her mouth to say something. But her throat dried, refused speak up. She kept staring at those mahogony eyes of him, trying to read out the emotions presiding in those. He loosened his grip on her wrist and moving her aside, left for his studio.
Feeebacks are awaited. Do let me know if it was worth your time.
Gauri would get all her answers in the next chapter.
Bass thoda aur intezaar kare aur kripya aapni chandni aur chameli door rakhe. 😂😂
