~ "I'm suffering" my mind screams, "I'm okay," I whisper ~
"I want to die" was all she could think as her mother asked what was wrong. She hummed and said that she was just tired, as she always said. Her mother nodded and returned to looking at her computer screen, not giving her daughters response a second thought.
She walked away from her mother thinking to herself. "How can she be so oblivious, she has known me for my entire life, and can't even tell when I'm breaking" She sighed as she entered her room, giving up on the thought all together. She laid on her bed, staring at the ceiling, hoping that tonight she wouldn't have to suffer from her recent nightmare, that she had been seeming to have nightly lately.
She slowly slid off her bed and walked out, and headed to her parents bathroom. She had committed self harm multiple times, but one day she had did more than usual, the marks stayed longer than normal, lasting a week, over that span of time a friend of hers saw the marks and informed a teacher of her findings. The teacher went to the counselor, and of course the counselor informed her parents.
Her parents had confronted her and saw the markings, after a long argument, including threats, yelling, storming out, and some tears, they had said all that they wanted, resulting in her losing all ways of communication on her phone and the loss of knives, things began to settle down with her parents.
But, little did her parents realized was that they had only caused more issues, taking her to doctors for medication for depression, and forcing her to see a therapist, she began to refrain from opening up to her friends and family, for worries of them only causing her more pain.
Recently her cat had kittens, which most people know if they have kittens is that they love to scratch and think nothing of it, so therefore ever since she was able to be near the kittens she allowed them to cut and scratch her, no longer having access to sharp objects. So in efforts to calm down she headed to the bathroom to be with the kittens.
When she entered the bedroom, the bathroom lights were off, she entered the bathroom the kittens were awoken from their slumber, she knew at that point that they were calm and most likely not scratch or attempt to climb upon her.
She exited the room with a sigh, knowing that she would be better off heading to her room to do something to ease her mind from her thoughts, hoping to calm down and not do anything that she would later on regret.
