~I like the rain it makes me feel like I'm not crying alone and its like a magical spell that temporarily washes away my doubts~
It started as a light tap on her window, and in a matter of moments it became a loud pounding. She stood from the comforts of her bed to open her curtain, revealing the large storm brewing outside her window.
She stared at the drops of rain slowly sliding down her window for a few minutes before making up her mind. She snuck out of her front door knowing her mother would yell if she were to be caught, yet this didn't falter her thought. She slowly eased herself out of the door and into the pouring rain, being soaked in a matter of seconds. She made her way gracefully down the wet, slick stairs, making sure not to fall and arise commotion.
As soon as she hit the grass it came over her instantaneously, and she sprinted along the side of her driveway. She ran and ran, when there was not enough room beside the driveway she stepped upon the driveway and continued to run. She embraced the rain loving the way it felt on her skin, she was always warm so it was nice to have the ice cold rain pelting down upon her, freezing her to the bone.
Then as soon as she felt peace it happened. She heard the loud holler of her mother, commanding her to enter the house because of it being so cold that day. She obediently walked to the porch and into the living room.
Her mother gave her a towel and told her to get cleaned up. She sighed and walked down the hallway and into the bathroom to shower and warm up. Still, she heard the pelting of the rain upon the roof, taunting her in a way, knowing she was once again trapped to never feel absolute freedom and peace. She sighed and slowly slid into the warm tub feeling her body being warmed, yet still the heat didn't reach into her soul, she still, even the the warmth of the water, felt ice cold.
She laid there staring at the ceiling, letting her thoughts once again over come her.
