I swear the Fates must have had one hell of a laugh that day. I mean the girl of my dreams literally got on a bus and drove off out of my life. I was pissed near tears even. She made me feel normal, like I could be myself. All I could do is put my poor tail between my legs and head on home. As I walked home I saw family being pulled apart, mothers and daughters being put onto these jumbo buses. Fathers and sons with tears in their eyes. Man could this day get any worse, and then it hit me like a giant truck.
Wait a minute, something is not right. Sam...... .
No.
No.
No.
No.
My legs begin to move and my house soon comes into focus in the blink of an eye. I open the door run up the stairs and kick in her door. At this exact moment I expect a hard left hook and series of unruly curse words to berate my ears. To my utter dismay I just hear the drip of her bath sink.
Plink.
Plink.
Drip.
My eyes scan the rest of the room. The walls were completely bare, every stupid poster of those shitty boy bands she listened to were gone. The only thing remaining were their darkened outlines and the nails they were originally hung from. I get to her bathroom to turn off that damn dripping and it was like a war zone. I can't begin to describe, like what the hell was she doing in here. You know what I'm just going to act like I never said anything and move on. She isn't even here anymore and yet she is still trying to scar me. I left her room and headed to the kitchen to make myself something to eat and to also help my nerves calm down. I open the fridge and to my surprise it was completely stocked. This thing usually consists of peanut butter, bananas and rotting food. I initially thought this was a prank and everything inside would turn out to be styrofoam, sad enough to say she did this before and I ended up slapping her with styrofoam banana.
One minute later.
Five minutes later.
Twenty minutes later.
Three hours later.
Fuck.
I ended up against the wall, tears slowly coming to my eyes. My one friend was gone and I was all by myself again. I took my stupid phone and looked it up and down thinking how many hours I had spent on it upstairs in my room, locked away from the world , taking her presence for granted. I threw the thing across the room and sat there and sulked. To my surprise it started to go off and up popped her face on the screen. She looked like she was going to bite someones head off, but it was worth it to see her face. I tried to pick it up, but it was complete and utter static. Anyway I saw a note hung on the wall, which pretty much summed up what I had already known. Sam explained how she had actually gotten a call about what had occurred. She called the local grocer and had them deliver enough food for me to survive. All my favorites were also there. She actually hadn't gotten onto one of the buses and was figuring out a way to stay in contact with me, so I would here from her soon enough. Well at least I knew that she would be around. I just decided to go to bed. I mean if your day went like mine wouldn't you want to just pass out too.
