"Hey, Dalton"
"Sup, Clay?"
"How'd you sleep?"
"Usual"
I know I can't tell tone through a text but he sounds tired. Or sick. I can't tell.
"Some things have cleared up in my calendar, Clay"
"Sweet" I was starting to feel fuzzy inside, "When can we go for coffee?"
"I was thinking the 3rd at 9. Is that alright?"
"Yeah," I honestly can't wait, "That sounds awesome" This is gonna be soooooo fun.
A few hours passed and we were still talking when i remembered that I didn't have my license yet and i had to ask mom.
"Hey momma," I peeked into her room. "I'm going to coffee with a friend on Sunday. Is it alright if you drive me?"
"I'll have to see if I'm working. Why don't you just txt him and ask if he wants to pick you up, hun?" Mom shrugs.
"Hey. Something was brought to my attention. Do you wanna come pick me up or do you wanna meet?" I txt him.
"Hmmm. I'll pick you up" his response was faster than normal. Maybe he's nervous. I shrug it away and start about the house with my normal chores.
I can't stop thinking about Sunday. I'm so nervous. I can barely focus. It's just coffee. It's not like a date or anything. Is it? I swear I pondered this question for the rest of the day: "Is it a date? There is no way it could be."
***The Next Day***
Picking up my phone I look to see if Dalton txted me. He hasn't yet. So i wait a minute before my phone goes off.
The text reads: "hello lovely," he's so sweet. I swear I'm starting to get feelings for him.... but I can't be. Not possible.
"What's up, man?"
Our normal morning routine spur and then he gets busy with his YouTube and work while I get busy cleaning my house and moving stuff into my family's new house.
***Dalton***
I know it's not good to keep secrets from her but she'll understand. I hope. I start typing.
(Can't wait for y'all to read chapter 3 after this cliff hanger)
