A/N: Okay so I know most authors leave an authors note at the end but Imma start off with mine. So this is a story that isn't fully developed but I hope it will be and I just have a little snippet ready to show the world. So without further ado, sit back, relax, and enjoy the story :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There's a feeling you get, a different type of adrenaline, that being in a fight gives you. The sharp sound of a whip swishes through the air interrupting my thoughts, and I duck just in time, a smirk making its way onto my face. Whip girls astonished face does nothing to surprise me.After all, rumour had it I was a man and certainly not a girl.
"Who are you?" She sneers stubbornly, while creeping towards me like a lion after its prey.
I don't bother responding, I'm too busy trying to keep track of her companions in the trees, attempting to sneak up on me.
I slowly start to walk backwards, feigning fear of the girl and her whip.
There's a soft rustling behind me, that gives her companions away, turns out they're not so good at their jobs, makes it easier for me to do mine.
The girl stalks towards me, trying to appear as menacing as possible. I had to admit, if I wasn't as experienced as I was, I'd have been scared out of my wits.
I start cowering and right then her companions decide to make a move. A small blade flies past dangerously close to my ears, as two figures drop from the trees beside me. A boy and a girl. Siblings, from the looks of it. The girl carries a bow and arrow, while the boy is stacked with knives.
"You've been causing a lot of trouble in the kingdom lately." One of the siblings sneer.
The trio make their way towards me, blocking any chance of escape. But that didn't worry me, I'd have my way soon enough.
Just as they're almost at me, I pull out one of my knives from my boots, throwing it at whip girl. The sharp blade sinks itself just above the inside of her elbow.
Her whip drops to the ground, and she falls to her knees in pain.
"Get her! Now!"
The poison that laced the blade, was started taking its course towards every joint and vein in whip girls body. It wouldn't kill her though, call me what you will, but I'm not a murderer.
Boy and girl rush at me, clearly aware that I'm a threat now. They come at me from two different sides at the same time, running with immense speed. I do the simplest thing I could do and take a step back, watching them collide into each other.
Whip girl mutters a weak question, tired from the poison.
"Who are you?"
This time I answer
"I'm Ace," I say with a pride. "Surely you've heard of me."
I stand there with an amused smile, not bothering to run just yet. The siblings turn towards me. Their faces showing both hate and anger. And shock. Shock at who I am.
Boy starts muttering a string of Latin words while girl grabs her bow off the floor, with a few intricate moves of her hand.
Warlocks, huh?
Well this fight just got interesting.
