It was so light at night. There were candle like lights lit everywhere, behind small windows in the walls of large buildings, in the cars, everywhere on the street. It was a beautiful sight.
I was glad they were there, because after being the incident with the princess, I did not like the dark at all. It gave me shivers down my spine and goosebumps on my skin, it reminded me of the rats gnawing at my clothes, gnawing at her motionless body, the pain, the fear.
So, yes, I was glad there were so many candle-like lights in the large city. It gave me a sense of safety, both the lights and the many people that littered the roads did. I had never seen so many people at one place, there were more than on the wedding of Namjoon and...
I sighed. Was Namjoon mad about that? Could that be it? After all... I killed his wife. I was a (not so) coldblooded murderer.
I slowly got up from my spot besides the black smelly bags. My feet took me back to the more crowded road, where there were barely any cars driving by anymore and the amount of people had lessened.
The only problem was, where could I go? I could not recall the way back to Namjoon and Jungkook's quarters. Even if I did, I did not want to go there.
I decided to walk, away from Namjoon's quarters and down the long road. There were still many people around, some glancing at me and seemingly smiling in recognition, others watching me with confusion. I had noticed that I stood out like a sore thumb with my lack of clothes, my arms bare and covered in goosebumps while others were wearing expensive looking thick coats. Was everyone here rich? Were they all of royalty? No they couldn't be, that would be impossible.
I rubbed my hands up and down my arms, trying to keep myself from freezing as I continued to walk down the long and straight road. I was already shivering, but the cold was not as bad as it could get in the servants quarters in the winter. I could remember once waking up, shivering, with snow covering the whole floor. Jimin had caught a fever back then, and I remember having to do all his chores, serving both princes, and running through the entire castle just to get everything done in time.
I paused in my step, something was shaking in the pockets of my pants. I reached in carefully to grab it, coming up with a small and flat metal box, of which one side was lit up. The whole box was shaking quickly in my hands.
I could see a red and green button on the lit-up side, the words 'Jinnie hyung' near the top. I pushed on one of the buttons, the green one, green was my favourite colour.
"Taehyung-ah where are you? We're worried" a voice came from the small box.
With a jump I let go of the box, letting it fall to the ground. What kind of magic box was that?
"Tae? Tae!" The voice wouldn't stop yelling my name. I picked it up again, a large scratch was now present on the lit-up side
"Sir in the box?" I called out. "Sorry I dropped you"
"What? Taehyung where are you?" Another voice asked. I recognised it as Jimin's.
"Jimin hyung! What are you doing in the box? Are you okay? Are you hurt? How did you get so small to fit?" I asked in concern. "I knew you were already small, now you are tiny"
"Hey!"
"Never mind about that, Tae where are you?" The other voice sounded.
I looked around me, not able to recognise where I was. There were more buildings on one side of the road, but on my side there was an empty spot with many trees. I walked down a small path, to go into the familiar forest. Wherever I was, the trees were the same as the ones in the forest near the castle.
"I do not know, some where with many buildings, and trees, I'm inside the small forest between all the buildings."
"He's at the park guys!" The voice yelled faintly
"Stay where you are, we'll be there in-" he said, getting cut off when suddenly the noise stopped. The box turned black and an unrecognizable sign lit up.
"Hello?" I shook the small thing. "Man inside the box? Are you still there?"
There was no answer.
I pouted and sat down on the ground, the box disregarded besides me. The sand beneath me was hard, but more comfortable than the stones I sat upon shortly before.
There I waited, and waited, growing more bored as time passed. I took on the distraction of drawing in the sand, small flowers decorating the ground before me. It calmed me, thoughts slipping from my mind as I continued to blankly draw margarets and daisies and roses in the sand.
"Taehyung!"
I looked up to see the broad-shouldered man jog to me, a worried look on his face. The other men from the apartment (including Namjoon) were closely behind him.
"What are you doing here? What happened?" He crouched before me. I quickly shot a glance towards Namjoon. He avoided it.
"Nothing happened, I just wanted to get some air" I lied easily. Namjoon's head shot to me in surprise, this time he couldn't avoid my piercing stare.
"Why didn't you tell us, we were really worried when you disappeared. You judt got back from the hospital after your accident, we don't need another" the man said. I still could not recall his name properly.
"What accident?" I asked confused.
"You don't remember?" The thief asked with a frown. I shook my head in response.
"A car drove onto the sidewalk and hit you, you were unconscious for four days, hyung" Jungkook said. "You don't remember?"
