Chapter 9

Lily smiled sweetly at Conor. It makes Harry's stomach hurt.

"Oh, hey, Lily." Conor greet her blankly.

"Nice to see you again! Its quiet really long since we've talk." Lily said.

"Yeah." Conor tried to put the cheering sound on his voice, but ends up, it didn't work.

Lily looked at who is behind Conor. She frowned immidiately when she saw Harry standing behind him.

"Is he making fun of you, Conor?" Lily makes a step close to Harry.

"No, Lily. He's not." Conor gets in between them.

Harry wanted to call her "poodle", sure that will be funny, but Conor will be mad at him. He tries to calm down instead, just glaring at her.

"Then what? I also saw him talking to you last time? What's going on?!" Lily questioned Conor.

"Uh, Lily, the truth is..."

"We're friends now." Harry continued. Lily giving a shocked face, jaws drop.

"What?!" Lily turned to Harry then back at Conor.

"Its true....Lily. I mean. Nothing's wrong about it." Conor said.

"What?! What do you mean "nothing wrong about it."?! Have you forgot how he makes fun of you and your mum back then?!" Lily shouted.

"Yeah I know, but-"

"But what, Conor? What if he's just making fun of you and not for long he'll hurt your feelings? What if that happened?!" Lily cuts Conor.

Harry only listens to both of them arguing at each other. He sighed.

"You know what? You two should stop arguing. The time is ticking." Harry said, stopping both of them, then Lily giving her a glare.

"You should shut up, Harry! You dont know anything at all about him. You're only gonna hurt his feelings! Like you did back then!" Lily got close to Harry, glaring at him.

Suddenly Conor blocked Lily.

"Stop already. He's my friend now!" Conor told her.

"Friend? Ah, dont make me pity you, Conor. Dont make me laugh. It's not funny!" Lily told him.

"Can't you see Conor? This guy is just trying to get to you to just hurt your feeling in the end! Cant you see that Im here! Im your friend, remember?" Lily said to him.

"Yeah, I know. But dont you remember? That you did also wrong back then! Really really wrong! But what did I do? I still forgive you." Conor told her.

Lily back up. Looking down to her shoes.

'Seems like she's been defeated now.' Harry thought.

Suddenly a teacher called their attention.

"You kids! You should be in your rooms now!" A teacher scolded at them.

All three of them apologized, then go to their rooms.

Throughout the discussion. Lily kept her eyes on Harry, glaring at him.

Harry glared back.

And both of them only glared at each other for the whole class discussion.

Classes already ended.

Both of them got out of the school, Harry and Conor going to the place where they always used to be.

Both of them talked about what happened earlier.

"Sorry about, Lily. She really just wants to protect me. That's all." Conor resting his hands on his lap.

"Nah. I dont mind. Its normal for a friend to worry like that." Harry crossed his arms.

"Thanks for understanding."

"Yeah, sure. No problem."

Both of them continued to talk to each other.

Harry starts to notice on how Conor looked simple and nice after all those hurting he does. He can also notice the gleam in Conor's eyes. It maked his heart flutter. Just by seeing how his eyes spark.

"Harry?"

Harry snapped out of it. Looking at Conor.

"Yes?" Harry asked.

"We should go home now."

"Yeah." Harry respond.

As both of them stands up of the bench, then head home.
