CHAPTER THREE
Ah, it's great to smell fresh air again, Yeri thought to herself while walking on the side lines of an unfamiliar road. The place she visited is clearly different from the city she has always seen, here a lot of trees line up from side to side; people carrying basins full of fish are walking their ways towards the market. It was a nice sight, she was glad she decided to walk.
It was already ten in the morning, the usual time she drinks coffee. She decided to stop by the nearest and probably the only coffee shop in this place to satisfy her cravings. Coffee shops in the province are almost the same with the ones you can see in the city, except that they have lesser equipment in comparison.
"One iced Americano, please." She ordered without looking at the person in front of her.
"Is there anything else, ma'am?"
Surprise, she looked up from her bag to the owner of the deep voice. A guy, probably about her age, was smiling with his big eyes, showing his cute little dimple.
"Excuse me?" the guy cleared his throat.
"Oh, I'm sorry. One iced Americano, please."
"Would that be all?" Oh, please stop smiling; your dimple is so distracting.
"Yeah, that would be all." Yeri quickly glanced away after answering. Her face felt hot all of a sudden; did he notice her staring at his face? She was a little bit embarrassed.
She kept fanning her face with her hand while waiting for her drink to be prepared. She can sense herself having a good time here, she just arrived and a handsome guy already welcomed her. The thought made her giggle.
"Here is your order, enjoy your coffee!"
She extended her hand to grab the coffee but she accidentally brushed his fingers. Oh what the heck is happening, she thought, this is like a scene straight out from my stories.
"Thank you."
She headed straight to the door and out from the coffee shop without looking back, well, that definitely thrilled her. A part of her brain was telling her that maybe a romance was brewing but she quickly shut the idea down. What romance am I talking about, I don't even know anything about him yet I'm already thinking about stupid things.
"Seulgi! Kang Seulgi!"
A woman with a shoulder length hair looked at her, and smiled from ear to ear, her small eyes almost disappearing.
"Yeri! Omg! I missed you!"
Yeri half ran the space between them and immediately enveloped her friend into a hug, how much she missed this girl in front of her, her best friend.
"How are you, it's been so long! You don't even reply to my messages!"
"I'm so sorry. You know how I've been, taking care of my patients and studying at the same time."
"I still can't believe that you really became a doctor! I thought you're going to pursue photography."
"I still love taking photos. I think I always will, but saving people made me feel like I am finally living the life I wanted for so long."
Yeri laughed. "Oh my god, you still sound so sentimental, my friend. You never changed at all."
"You know what, let's continue talking inside. My mom has been waiting for you since the day you told us you're going to visit."
"Did she prepare my favorites?"
"Of course she did! She loves you more than her own daughter."
"That's because I'm much prettier than you, Slug."
The sound of Yeri's laughter rang in the garden while they were making their way inside the house.
