As Robin pulled into the driveway of their shingled condo with Jane riding shotgun, they saw their mother staring at a letter in her hand. Jane and Robin both saw the shocked look on their mother’s face, but only Robin decided to take action while Jane rolled her eyes and called her friends on her phone. Robin went over to his mom and asked, “Ma, what’s wrong?”
“We have to move,” replied Margot, Jane’s mom.
“Okay,” said Robin unsteadily, “why?”
“A new job, I’m still in shock, it comes with a brand new house, better pay, and tuition money for you, and Jane to go to a new private school in California!” explained Jane’s mom.
“California? That’s on the other side of the country! Jane and I are New York kids, we’ve lived here our whole lives!” said Robin.
“It’s for the best, your dad is OK with us moving, and that is the end of the discussion!” replied Jane’s Mom. As you can see Jane’s family of three is now moving to California, as for her Dad, he already worked in Sacramento, so they were moving closer to him anyway! However, Jane’s reaction was extremely different.
“WHAT???? We’re moving to CALIFORNIA!!! I have my friends here, a life, if you ask me to move away from all that then you’re crazy!!” said Jane angrily.
“Jane Beckham Clark, I am your mother, and wherever I decide to go, you are coming too! We are leaving in 2 weeks, they want me on the job ASAP!” replied Jane’s mom.
Jane then sighed and stomped up the stairs to her room, she then proceeded to cry hysterically for 2 hours until she finally decided she would just leave school without telling anyone she was moving.
