Seth
Bree look as if she was about to pass out right there when Alice told her that we was the first to walk down the aisle. I took her hand firmly, getting it a slight squeeze. I think she was starting to hyperventilate.
"Easy Bree," I told her. "It's not a big deal."
"I don't like to be under pressure and people staring at me." Bree said, taking deep breaths. "It gets me nervous and when I'm nervous I get really clum-" I put my finger to her lips.
"You're over thinking it. You won't be walking alone. You got me." I flash her a grin. This seems to calm her down for a bit.
"If I black out will you catch me?" she asks.
"Of course."
"Good."
As we came first down the aisle, the audience began to rise and the music changed into a unfamiliar yet soothing tone. We walk to the slow tempo of the music. Bree squeeze my hand during the entire time we was walking down the aisle. Feeling her nervousness somehow made me feel nervous.
"You know," I whisper as we walk down the aisle. "we're not getting married Bree."
"I figured that out." mumbles Bree.
I signed. "Then why so freaked out about a walk down the aisle? Wait that didn't sound right."
We got to the end of the aisle before I knew it. Bree went to one side to take her place as a bridesmaid as I went near Edward's side to fill in the role as best man for Bella.
I found myself glancing at Bree when ever I got the chance. I didn't care much how Bella look in her wedding dress, Bree was always on my mind. I hope Edward, who can read minds, doesn't give me too much crap for this.
The wedding went smooth. Their vows was simple and traditional. Bella was crying by the time she had to say "I do."
I couldn't find Bree during the reception party. My mother and Billy were close by as I duck over the flower garland to give my congrats to the newlyweds.
"Congrats guys." I lean towards Edward to give him a hug. He returns the hug with his free hand. "It's good to see things work out for you, man," Seth said. "I'm happy for you."
"Thank you, Seth. That means a lot to me." Edward pulled away from me and look at Billy and my mom. "Thank you, as well. For letting Seth come. For supporting Bella today."
"You're welcome," Billy said, sounding optimistic.
I waved goodbye and wheeled Billy towards the food. I felt my mom's hand on my shoulder. I didn't expect to find Bree in line for food, filling up her plate. I found it a bit weird. I didn't know vampires can consumed human food.
I quickly tap on her shoulder as my mom and Billy made themselves a plate. "Hey."
She turns and gave me a slight smile. "Hi."
"Didn't expect you to be..." I began to say.
"Eating?" Bree questions.
"I figured your family was on a...special diet." I admit.
"I couldn't help myself." I said, popping a piece of fish into her mouth, her eyes rolling into the back of her head. "The smell of the food is so overwhelming. Sure I'm gonna, you know," She made a slight vomit gesture. "But man it's so worth it. Have you tried the fish? Or salad?"
I felt Billy's wheelchair behind me. "Well Seth aren't you gonna introduce us to your new friend?"
"Oh Bree this is my mom, Sue Clearwater and this is Billy Black. He's an...family friend." I introduce.
Billy held out his hand. Bree shoved her plate into my hands and shook his hand. Billy seem surprised when Bree was shaking his hand.
"Nice to meet you Mr. Black," Bree said politely. She looks over to my mother. "And you too, Mrs. Clearwater."
"Same," Mom said in a polite tone. "Seth I'm gonna take Billy to our table." She left, taking Billy with her.
"Your mom seems...tense." Bree said, taking her plate from my hands. "Did I do something wrong?"
I shook her head. "She's not a big fan of-"
Bree signs rolling her eyes. "Let me guess. Vampires? God first your sister and now your mom. God it's not like I chose to be one!"
"It's nothing personal against you." I persuade.
She gave me a look. "I have to disagree on that."
I spent the rest of the reception trying find ways to tell Bree about the imprint. Since I couldn't find the right words, I let myself get distracted by events at the reception such as the cake cutting, tossing the bouquet, garter removal and the first dance.
I was sitting with my mom and Billy when I caught a glimpse of Sam in wolf form approaching slowly within the darkness of the forest. I could tell he was with someone but didn't know who.
"I figure you couldn't tell her." Billy said, interrupting my train of thought.
"Huh? No...it's not something you just tell someone right off the bat." I said. "It's not like I can just walk right up to her and say "Hiya Bree. You're my soulmate even thought we are natural enemies."
"I know it's not easy explaining." Billy said.
"You think?" I said, getting up and walking away from the table and from the reception party.
I had a brief moment of silence to myself before I heard Jacob's angry voice.
"Bella! Have you lost your mind? You can't be that stupid! Tell me you're joking!"
I saw from a few feet from me Jacob had grabbed Bella by her upper arms and was slightly shaking her. I got concerned, fearing that he is going to phase and seriously harm Bella. I ran over to them.
"Jake, bro back away." I urged him. "You're losing it."
Jacob stood there, frozen, with a horrified look in his eyes.
"You'll hurt her." I whispered. "Let her go."
"Now!" Edward snarls at him.
Jake finally let her go, but he was still shaking. I saw Sam and Paul coming to our aid, trying to prevent a fight. I wrap my arms around Jake and tried to pull him away from Bella.
"C'mon, Jake. Let's go."
"I'll kill you," Jacob said, his voice filled with rage. "I'll kill you myself! I'll do it now!"
Sam growled sharply.
"Seth, get out of the way," Edward hissed.
I tugged on Jacob again. He was so pissed off I manage to yank him a few feet away from Edward and Bella. "Don't do it, Jake. Walk away. C'mon."
Sam help me by pushing Jake using his massive head into the darkness of the forest.
