Hinata gets braces

It was one of the one things that Hinata wished to never hear. One was that he couldn't play volleyball anymore; but another was: he had to get braces. This doesn't seem so bad, but when you're Hinata, it's bad. It's bad enough that he gets hit in the face by the ball, but throw in a lot of pain because of getting hit in the face with braces, and it becomes Hinata's nightmare.

His mother had planned an orthodontist meet, because Hinata's dentist said he would need braces. The orthodontist looked at Hinata's teeth and said that he would need braces for a few years, and a few years meant the rest of highschool. Crap. Hinata thought to himself. He knew that braces would be uncomfortable by themselves, but playing volleyball with braces would be hellish.

The next day, Hinata got to practice early with his boyfriend Kageyama so he could toss to Hinata. Practice began and Hinata told his teammates that he is getting braces in a few months. "You know that getting hit in the face with braces is a whole nother pain, right?" Kageyama told him, and Hinata shivered. "Crap. This is gonna suck!" Hinata shouted.

Lunch time rolled around, and Hinata and Kageyama had lunch together on the roof like usual. Hinata remembered that he had braces before, so he asked him what it was like. "Well, I wasn't playing volleyball then, so I can't tell you what the pain would feel like. But I will tell you this, the first few months will be the worst part of it all. You're lucky that you only need them for a few years." He informed him, which didn't really help. "Hey, Kageyama. Why don't you smile very often?" Kageyama kind of glared at him, and Hinata didn't even look alarmed because he was so used to it. "Well, I'm not used to smiling yet. I'm just getting used to not having braces." Hinata asked his boyfriend to smile, and he did. Hinata examined his teeth, and got a bit jealous by how straight his teeth were (unlike himself).

Afternoon practice went smoothly, and Kageyama walked Hinata home. They chatted about practice, and walked over to Ukai's store, and got some meat buns. It was a smooth walk home, and Hinata gave Kageyama a peck on the lips before walking into his house. Kageyama blushed and walked back to his house, and did his homework really quickly. After he got finished, he got a text from Hinata:

Hey Kageyama, how long did you wear braces?
Tobio❤️:
I wore them all through elementary school.
Dumbass❤️:
Woah, that's a long time, and you never played volleyball then?
Tobio❤️:
No. Have you finished your homework?
Dumbass❤️:
No, I got bored and I wanted to talk to you.
Tobio❤️:
Dumbass! You need to finish it before anything else. Do you want some help?
Dumbass❤️:
Yes... I can't figure out some of these problems.
Tobio❤️:
Okay, I'll call you in a second.

"Hey Tobio!" Hinata excitedly said.
"Hello. What did you need help with?" Kageyama asked.
They spent around 30 minutes to finish Hinata's homework.
"Hey Tobio, do you...want to go for dinner with me?"
"Dumbass, I'm supposed to ask that. But sure, my parents aren't home so I have nothing else to do. Where do you want to go?"
"Uhm, I don't know, where do you want to go?"

So they met up at a restaurant and sat at a table.
"So, are you scared of getting braces?" Kageyama asked.
"Yes! I don't want to get hit in the face with braces." Hinata rubbed his face.
"Well then before you do, you need to learn to not receive with your face."
"Tobio! I don't do it on purpose!"

They ate and went to Hinata's house to watch a movie.
"What color are you getting?"
"What do you mean? I thought braces were metal?"
Kageyama face palmed at his boyfriend's stupidity.
"Dumbass, I meant what color bands."
"Ohhh, uhm, I might get black and orange for our team."
"That's cute." Kageyama mumbled.
"Eh? Tobio," Hinata blushed a little. "You know I can hear you, right?"
"Uhh, shit. Just forget I said anything..."
Hinata hugged his boyfriend because he was embarrassed.
"I love you Tobio. You know that, right?"
"Of course. I love you too Shoyo."
Hinata ended up falling asleep on Kageyama, and he grabbed a blanket to wrap around them and fell asleep.
