~~A Tiny Bit INTERACTIVE!!*~~

(*interactive closer to the end of the story)

Y/n watched her boyfriend walk past her down the hall of the avengers facility, looking Solemn and darker than usual. "Hey bucky!" She exclaimed to him, trying to sound cheerful, but deep down inside she was worried for her soldier. He just grunted in acknowledgement and kept walking, not even stopping to look at or hug her.

Bucky was acting strange indeed. During nick fury's meetings he just stared off into space, half listening to what was said. At breakfast he poured a bowl of cereal, stared and played with it, then just left without eating a bite. Usually he'd eat two bowls full.

Even during training he wasn't using his full energetic force like he usually did. Slower and kind of disappointed, daydreaming almost. As if he was thinking on something else. Especially with y/n. She managed to pin him to the ground with very little effort,

And all he did was lay there like a slug, turning his head to the side in defeat.

Everyone at the tower noticed, and they were all afraid of asking him, in case Bucky went on a rampage... Again. (Last avengers New Years party. Don't ask.) And this has been happening for a week already! Y/n got some courage and decided to do the next best thing without asking Bucky....

Ask his best friend.

"Steve, why is Bucky acting like this?" Y/n asked as she went on a run with Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson.

"Yeah, he's been a real jerk lately. And not his usual asshole self." Sam snickered a bit, y/n rolled her eyes and ignored the comment, turning back to Steve.

"He didn't tell you?" Steve said, a little taken aback.

"Tell me what? Is he okay??" Y/n started to panic a little. "Oh god I did something, didn't I??"

"Oh No no don't worry! He's fine!" Steve smiled reassuringly, waving it off. but somehow it wasn't helping much. "It's just his birthday is coming up soon and ever since we brought buck home and somewhat back to normal, he's more home- or, timesick when it's his birthday. It reminds him of. How old he really is. Just let him be depressed until it's over."

"Oh poor Bucky..." Y/n sighed sympathetically, bowing her head sadly, until she perked up a bit with an idea, "we should do something nice for him!"

Sam laughed with a smirk, "We could buy car wax for his arm as a present!" He joked.

Steve stopped in his tracks, "Very bad idea N/n! he hates surprises and he hates his birthday!! Not a good combination! Don't do-!.." Steve's voice trailed off as the gears and cogs in her head began to turn, working on an interesting, yet risky idea....

"why don't we give ol' frosty a party?" Tony shrugged casually as he pulled up his sunglasses and leaned back in his comfy chair in the new lab after y/n explained why Bucky's been so grumpy(-er than usual.) "I could sponsor it! I'll supply the drinks! Vodka anyone? No..?" Tony continued in his normal smug fashion.

"A-actually I have been working on a program that won't make him come in for tune ups as often.." Bruce banner adds, shyly.

"-Bucky, plus party, equals very very bad idea!! Remember the New Years party last year!?" Steve exclaims, trying to get his point across.

"Steve, You said he's homesick? Like he misses his time?" Y/n cocked her head in curiosity, the ideas swarming in her head like bees in a hive.

"Yeah, why...?" He raised an eyebrow in confusion.
