Chapter 3

Calleigh POV

We walked across the hall to Miss.Jones classroom. my dad shut the door behind, still holding the paper in his hand. She looked up to him when he came to her desk "hey honey" she said, I gaged a little making them both look at me,like I was crazy. "What is this" he said, handing her the paper "oh, this she dis served that grade" she said with a smirk.

I was about to jump over the desk, but he stopped me mid air. "Dad, let's go we can do this Monday" I said "yeah your right let's go before we late" he said. When he was about to open the door she spoke "are we still on tonight?" she asked "no" he said. With that we were out and at my dance studio

I got out the car before we could even put it in park. "Kalani!"I yelled, she turned back "Calleigh" she yelled. We ran up to each other and hugged each other. "For a minute I thought you weren't coming" she said "could I really let me duet partner down" I said with a smile on my face. "I see your father came" she said "yeah, I'm really nervous for my solo" I said "Cal, your going to be fine, does your dad now it's a tribute to your mom?" she asked i looked at him then her "no, he doesn't know" I said. Everyone was now on the bus and we took off. I decided to sit with Kalani, cause we had to practice for the duet and put on make up and do our hair.

Later that day at the competition

We were now at the competition in the dressing room. Me and Kalani were practicing in the dressing room. Before we went on stage my dad hugged me and said "good luck pumpkin" and said the same thing to Kalani, but without the pumpkin part. Me and Kalani killed our duet now it was turn for my solo. We went back to get changed for my solo. The name of my solo was called Angel, I really liked it because it reminded me how my mom is an angel and looking down at us. The announcer said "Here is Calleigh with Angel a tribute to her mother" before I left to go on stage I could here my dad let out a small cry

On my side aerial after that I almost forgot the rest, thank God I didn't cause I really wanted to get this win not for just me but for my mom. After I was done I did the walk I was suppose to do after I was, I went up to my dad and started crying. he was stroking my hair cause it was down "dad I miss her so much" I said while crying "I know I miss her too" he said we did the group dAnce and all now it was time for awards. First came the duets " For first place for the duets for tonight is Calleigh and Kalani with "Call it whatever" the announcer said. we stood up and hugged each other and got out award and medals and bow and sat down with the rest of our team. Now for group dances we were second but we were still glad we placed

Now, is the time I've been waiting for "drum role please" with that everyone starting banging on the stage floor "For solo overall high score is Calleigh with Angel" they handed me this big trophy and a sling that said Miss Junior Dance "who was this tribute for" " this tribute is for my mom" I said. I sat back down and looked at my dad, he was smile and mouth "good job honey" I mouth back "thank you"

Back in the dressing room

Once us girls back were back in the dressing room our moms/dad was there. I ran up to my dad with my big trophy he pulled me into a hug. My feet were not touching the ground, so I put them around his waist. Our dance teacher came in with a big check for my solo. She put it down, and I ran up and gave her a hug she whispered in my hear "great job hon" "thank you" I said

At the hotel

Once I took a shower and ate I went to my room in the hotel. Once I got inside my dad was in his room. I shut my door cause I need to do something a little private, I walked over to the balcony. "mom, if your there. I hope your proud of me and all the things I've done". "I know that it wasn't my place to tell dad about my happiness, it wasn't fair to him". "I can't apologize to what I said to that witch, I really miss you and the days it was just me and you at the competitions". "helping me with my hair and even though I might of lost,you always told me that there's always another chance.

"Mom, if you hear me, I need you more than ever. I can't let dad marry her, and if he does. I can't call her mom, I feel that if I do it's disgracing you to call her mom". I sat there on the ground crying, my dad starting knocking on the door "Cal, are you ok in there?" he asked "yeah" I said "Can I come in" he asked. "I need to talk to you about Aria" he said. I sat down "I'm gonna ask her to marry me" he said. I got up and went back on the balcony to where I was talking to my mom. "Cal, please say something" he said. I turned around to say something

"What do you want me to say dad"? I asked, "Tell me what you think about me marrying Aria" he said. I took a deep breath and started "I won't call her mom, I will not accept her as my mother, she will never be my mother" I said, that's when I tear started rolling down my left eye. I went back to the balcony, I thought that my dad left so I started back talking to my mom. "Mom, I don't know what to do anymore, I don't want her as my step mother, but I do want dad to be happy. What about my happiness too, but it doesn't matter what I think anymore. I feel like my whole life is slipping before my eyes. First, you die the day before my birthday on your job. Why did you have to be a CSI like Uncle Eric?, your my mom and I need you.
