Lucas's POV
Well she's gone. Maya left me. For the week anyway. She's in New York with Tara at fashion week. I don't know how Tara got invited but she decided to take Maya with her. Leaving me all alone and without my fiancé. It's been more than six months since we got engaged and now Maya and I are both twenty years old. We've planned a little bit of the wedding but not too much since we still have time. We both wanna be 21 before we get married because Maya wants to legally be able to drink since she's silly like that. We're juniors in college now and since Maya wants to be a therapist and I wanna be a sports manager we still have about three years left of school which is okay for us cause we'll still be young by the time we get going on our actual professions. At this time of year, New York is three hours ahead of California, which doesn't seem like much but for a guy who likes to spend almost every waking second with his girlfriend, it's absolute pure torture. By the time I wake up, Maya's already in her first fashion show of the day. When she's free, I have class and the cycle just continues. We only really get to talk before she goes to bed which makes me a little sad but it's only for a few more days and then my babygirl will be back in my arms.
While Maya's been gone, I've just been going to school, cleaning the apartment, and occasionally hanging out with some friends. The other day Maya drove up here and we hung out the whole day and that was really fun. She's like the only real friend I have besides my Maya. My Maya is my best friend and she always will be. But, the other Maya is a close second. Today I have plans with Callie's boyfriend, Jake. We're supposed to go on a double date next week once Maya gets back home. As I'm watching TV, I get a FaceTime call from the love of my life. I answer it with the biggest smile on my face.
"Hi babygirl!" I say.
"Hi bubba!! I miss you so fucking much." She says.
"I miss you more baby. But you'll be home soon! How was the first fashion show of the day?" I ask.
"It was really good! They get a little boring after awhile. I just miss you and your face and arms so much." She says with a little pout.
"I know baby, I miss you more. You'll be back in two days though. Aren't you having fun with Tara?" I ask.
"Of course. I miss T so much but she's so into the party life especially here in New York and I'm just not like that anymore ya know?" She asks.
"Yeah I know. Well you just have tonight's show and then tomorrow you guys can hang out and then the next day you'll be back in my arms." I say with a smile.
"Thank god!" She giggles. "What're you doing today?"
"Going out with Jake." I say.
"Callie's Jake?" She asks.
"Yep. We're going to lunch and then we're gonna walk around the mall and come back here to watch the game." I say.
"That sounds fun." She says but she sounds a little off and I most likely know why but that doesn't stop me from asking.
"Babygirl what's wrong?" I ask frowning.
"I wanna come home. I haven't seen you in a fucking week. I miss you so much." She says and I can hear that she's about to cry.
"Hey no tears my love, no tears." I say softly.
"How'd you know I was gonna cry?" She asks sniffling.
"You're my fiancé, I know you." I say smiling.
"I'm just homesick and I miss you." She cries.
"I know baby, I know. But you're gonna have so much fun at your last show tonight okay?" I say and she shakes her head.
"I don't wanna." She whines.
