Chapter 1: Let's Jam

It's a fun Saturday morning for Shawna Rae. Shawna will be on her way to an audition for a commercial in a few hours, and she is really hoping to do well. Shawna's full name is Shawna Rae Bradley, but she goes by Shawna Rae because Rae is her middle name, and according to her, "It sounds more professional." Beforehand, Shawna decides to spend some time with her best friend Madison Lewis. Shawna's mom, Kathy, drives her to Madison's house.

"So, what time is the audition, mom?" Shawna asked.

"It's at 4, so there's plenty of time." Kathy said.

Shawna liked hearing this, because she wanted to hang out with Madison for as long as she could. The two of them have been friends since they were five years old

The car pulled up at Madison's house, and Madison was waiting for her.

"Thanks mom." Shawna said, leaving the car.

"Hi Shawna," Madison called to her.

"Hey Maddie, what's up?" Shawna asked.

"Are you excited about your audition today?" Madison asked.

"Yeah, it'll be exciting, hopefully I'll get it." Shawna said.

Shawna and Madison then went into the house to get some food, and then decided to watch a movie. They settled on the newest Harry Potter film. Shawna is a big Harry Potter fan, she has read all the books, and seen all the films.

"I've seen it like 4 times." Madison said.

"That's what makes it so amazing." Shawna said.

About an hour into the movie, Madison gets a text from this boy named Greyson.

"It's Greyson again," Madison said, showing her the text.

"Aww that's cute that he texts you," Shawna said.

"There's nothing cute about it, he's been literally stalking my life," Madison said. "I need to set him straight."

"What have I always told you about that, Maddie?" Shawna asked.

"Not to be so direct all the time?" Maddie answered.

"Yep," Shawna said.

At three o'clock, Kathy came to the house to pick Shawna up.

"Let me know how it goes, ok?" Madison asked.

"I will." Shawna said. "Wish me luck!"

As Shawna got in the car, she saw that her old sister Alexis was there too.

"Hey!" Shawna said.

"Hey sis," Alexis said.

"Thought you were packing for college?" Shawna asked.

"I am, but I wanted to be here for you at the audition." Alexis said.

Shawna was touched. She and her sister always had a good relationship.

The audition was in Beverly Hills, and they had to drive on the highway to get there.

If she can help it, Kathy avoids travelling via the freeway because it takes forever due to L.A. traffic. But this wasn't about her today, it was about her daughter. Unfortunately for the group, there was a bad accident on the highway which caused some delays.

"Mom, what time is the audition again?" Shawna asked.

"It's at four." Kathy answered.

Shawna began to get nervous because she knew first hand that it wasn't good to be late for auditions.
