The wind flows as the cherry blossom petals flew across the city. It was a warm day as the warm pink petals flew across the sky. I sat on the bench and stared at the petals just fluttering down to earth. The songbirds sang their songs of love. The sun glowed brightly down at the trees. The sidewalk looked pink from all the petals. The wind was lukewarm as it flowed through my hair and on my face.
I woke up. Even though it was a dream, it felt so real. I stretched and went to go take a shower. I stood in the shower for a bit and kinda did nothing. I just spaced out. When I was done spacing out I washed my hair and so on. When I was done, I put on a wifebeater and some jeans. I looked at myself in the mirror and brushed my teeth. I was debating whether or not to shave and I decided not to. I kinda liked the beard that was growing in. I walked out into the living room where I saw my dad smoking a bong.
"I guess mom went to work huh?" I asked. He just nodded and smiled. I chuckled a bit and went to the kitchen. I grabbed a leftover burger that was in the fridge and warmed it up. I walked back to the couch and sat next to my dad.
"Hey, look..." My dad said. He took a puff of his bong and kept the smoke in his mouth for a bit. He smiled while he blew the smoke out of the gap in between his two front teeth. We both chuckled and dad coughed from the smoke. I gave him half of my burger as he didn't have breakfast yet. I grabbed my backpack and my letterman jacket and continued getting ready for school.
"You wanna puff before you get to school?" My dad said.
"N-No thanks. I don't want to screw up my head more than it already is." I said. He shrugged and took another puff of his bong. I put my hair in a bun and packed up my backpack. I said goodbye to my dad and walked out the door, heading to school. As I arrived, I quickly walked into the library, trying not to get spotted. I got into the library and tried to find a good book. I walked over to the Greek Mythology section and grabbed a book about Hades and Persephone. I sat down at one of the tables and started reading it. I was so caught up in the book, I didn't notice that a couple of people walked in. I heard a slam on the table that I was at. It startled me as I looked over my book, worried who it was.
"Hey Hercules, how you doin?" My friend Dan asked. I breathed a sigh of relief and chuckled.
"You scared me. I thought you were the other guys." I said smiling.
"What? The football jocks and the cheerleaders? Man, if I was you I would relish all of this, I mean, girls that will show you their tits without you having to pay them or call you a pervert is a big win in my book." Dan said chuckling. I smiled for a bit and shook my head.
"Yeah but, after a while, it kinda just gets tiring, ya know? Like, it's great having friends that give you lots of complements and stuff but, after I was kicked off, I felt like it was kinda unneeded at that point." I said sighing. Dan gave me a confused look.
"Wait... you were kicked off? Why?" He asked, concerned.
"The coach said I was too strong and needed a break." I said angrily. "Besides, what are you even doing here? Didn't you drop out?" I asked him.
"What? Am I not allowed to see my best friend?" He said with a smirk. He got up and talked over to my side of the table. He sat next to me and inched the seat closer to me. "You know that cheerleader that you always hang out with?"
"Which one? There's a lot of them." I ask.
"The one that's kinda tan that always bleaches her hair. She's the only one that doesn't screw every guy she sees." He says.
"You mean Catherine?" Catherine is the only virgin on the cheerleading team which is kinda surprising.
"Yeah! Her." He said. He leaned over to my ear. "She wants your dick." He said whispering. I blushed and pushed him away.
"Heh, I doubt it. I'm too... uh... "good". I don't go to party's or drink or smoke or do any type of drugs. Hell, my dad even offers to smoke weed with me and I deny him every time. I'm not... a bad kid. Girls like her always seem to like bad boys and I'm not that." I said.
"Well if your such a good kid, why do you kill angels?" Dan said. I covered his mouth quickly.
"No one else knows about that. Keep quiet or angels won't be the only thing I kill." I said. Dan licked my hand causing me to jerk it away from his mouth.
"Fine, fine..." he got up and walked over to me. "At least, if you want to, give her a chance. Besides..." he lifted my chin with his hand as he got closer to my face. "You might actually lose your v-card." He let go of my face as I blushed and got up. Dan left the library in a hurry, as if any teachers or admin spotted him he would've been in trouble. Soon after, the school bell rang. I walked to class and it all went as usual. It was boring and not really important. After school, Catherine ran up to me and gave me a hug. I hugged her back and she smiled.
"How are you?" She asked cheerfully.
"I'm fine, today was boring as all hell. Dan came over this morning." She gasped.
"Danny came over?" She said excitedly.
"Yeah, he was." I said. "He told me something earlier that I want to talk about." I noticed that she got a little tense when I said that.
"W-What did he say?" She said. She was sweating and was obviously nervous.
"He said that... you liked me. Well, the way he said it was that you wanted my dick." She blushed and looked away. "Well?" I kept pushing it. She looked at me with vulnerable eyes and blushed more. I started blushing and kinda panicked.
"Y-Yes..." She whispered. It was so quiet that I almost didn't hear it. I turned red from how much I was blushing. She sat on the nearby benches and hid her face in her hands from the embarrassment. I sat next to her and sighed.
"Well... if you want... we can try test dating... we won't be official... we'll just see how it goes. How about it? What do you say?" I ask. She lifts her head up and smiles.
"Y-Yeah... that would be nice." She said. She hugged me tightly and kinda laid on me. Soon after a while more and more people started leaving as we talked about random things. I texted my dad and said that I wouldn't be home for a while so he wouldn't try to track me down.
"Hey... do you want to go to the ice cream shoppe that's down the street instead of staying here the whole time?" She asked. I agreed and we walked down to the shoppe. We bought our ice cream and sat down at a booth that was there. We sat next to each other and just were having a good time. She had fudge ice cream while I had strawberry.
"This place has really good ice cream. I would come back here." She said. I looked at her while she ate her ice cream, and... just didn't feel right. Sure she's pretty, nice, amazing, but... it doesn't feel right. I decided to try and keep going with her and see if things would change. I went home and Dan crawled though my window. He usually does this twice a week ever since he dropped out.
"Hey Hercules, how's the v-card? Is it finally gone or what?" Dan said.
"No... I still have it. But I took your advice and we went on a test date." I responded.
"Heh... well... how'd it go?" He asked.
"Well... it was nice but..."
"But what?" He interrupted.
"I didn't feel anything. Like... I didn't feel like I liked her... I just can't feel anything. I never felt anything like that." I told him.
"Well... do you think you're gay?" He asked. I was surprised by that.
"... I... don't know..." I said. I blushed because I didn't know what to do about it.
"Well... what if I did this?" Dan climbed over onto my lap and pinned me down to my bed. I blushed more and my heart started beating faster. He leaned in really close to my face and kissed me. His lips were soft and tender. My heart started beating faster and faster. I felt my heart aching and I didn't know why. He pulled away and got off of me.
"Well... I figured out that I like guys now. How about you?" Dan said. That made me blush even more.
"I... I think I'm gay..."
