We arrived at the mall and started to shop. We hit three stores, guys and girls, and then went to the food court. We sat down to. “So, what’d you guys get?” I asked Paul and Danny.
“You know, vans, hats, sweaters, and more stuff like that. What’d you guys get?” they asked in return.
“Shoes, shirts, bracelets, and sweaters.”
“You guys like my hat?” Lyzza asked, pulling out a TokiDoki snapback.
“Yeah,” we all replied.
“Oh, I got Supras too!” Lyzza exclaimed, tracing the lining of the shoebox.
“Woah, cool,” Danny said, fascinated by Lyzza’s sense of style.
“So, you guys want to keep shopping or what?” I asked.
Lyzza scoffed. “Psh, hell yeah! When I’m done, this mall will be empty. I’m not talking about one or two things empty. I’m talking DESERTED. I’m amazing,” she said, flipping her hair.
We all laughed. “I have an idea. Why don’t we split up again? Paul with Lyzza and Caitlyn with me. If that’s okay with you….” Danny trailed off.
I smiled, “Sure.”
Later, Paul and Lyzza left, but Danny and I stayed back. “So, Danny, Tell me about you. Who IS Danny Edge?” I asked him as if I were an interviewer.
He chuckled. “Danny Edge is me, I’m just a really cool and fun guy.”
“Oh? It sounds interesting being you. NOT.”
He put his hand to his chest, feigning pain. “Harsh.”
I burst out in laughter. “Oh m-my g-gosh!” I yelled in between breaths. Everyone stared at us as if we were crazy. I looked back at them. “Sorry,” I whispered, snickering. We ran out of the food court and started laughing. I hit him playfully. “You’re horrible!”
“How?” he asked.
“You made me look like I was crazy!” I exclaimed in a whisper.
He looked at me in surprise. “Well, you are what you look like.”
“Ever heard of ‘Don’t judge a book by his cover’?” I asked.
“Fine. You’re not crazy.”
“Thank you,” I said, smiling – feeling and looking smug.
After we all finished shopping, we met up at my house. “So, what do you guys want to do now?” I asked,
“I don’t know,” Lyzza shrugged.
“You guys want to go out for dinner?” I asked.
“Sure!” they all agreed.
“Okay. Lyzza and I are going to get ready. Meet us here in three hours,” I said.
“Sure,” they agreed.
Once they left, I turned to Lyzza. “Well, I’m going to go down to the basement. Do you want to come?” I asked.
“Sure.”
