HOLA. HERE'S THE NEXT CHAPTER. HOPE YOU LIKE IT.

Side note: this is another really long one. Oops Sorry about that.

The clocked ticked on the wall, every tick one more second closer to the Winter Solstice. Rowan had been anxious all day, waiting for the clock to hit eight. It would take them around three hours to walk to Doneralle, so if they left around eight they would be there by eleven which was when everyone would start leaving the city. The witches were flying ahead of them to hide the Wyverns for a surprise attack. With the city being so close together, they wanted to avoid using the Wyverns in casue the creatures accidentally hurt themselves or anyone else. They were going to have the Wyverns as a back up plan in case something went wrong. Rowan really hoped nothing went wrong.

The six o'clock bell rang signalling the start of dinner. Rowan left his room and started toward the kitchen to help Emrys. The room was the same on that he'd been using while he had trained Aelin. The same roaring fireplace, the same bed, the same table where he'd once tattooed over her scars. His pace slowed as he thought of something that had never occurred to him. Her tattoos would be ruined after what Carin did to her. He would redo them if she asked, but he secretly didn't want too. She had already been through enough and he didn't want her in anymore pain.

Rowan turned a corner and crashed right into Manon. The Crochan Queen snarled, brushed her hair out of her face, and gasped. "Sorry," She apologized. "I didn't mean to run into you."

Rowan raised an eyebrow. "I ran into you. I'm the one who should be sorry."

Manon pressed her lips together and sighed. "They told me to be kind to you until we get to Aelin. Something about being too anxious and ready to blow any minute."

Rowan shook his head. That would be Emrys' doing. The old man was the only one who had even tried to talk to him about what had happened on the beach. He was probably the only one to see how much Rowan was cursing himself. If he had only been faster to get to Aelin none of this would have happened. He would have taken Maeve on himself and he would have made sure that Aelin got out of there alive. But he hadn't. And that was why they were on their way to attack the Queen of the Fae.

Rowan turned to Manon. "Forget what they said. I'm fine. I don't want to be treated any different."

Manon smiled slightly. "I relate."

He narrowed his eyes and looked at Manon. "How are you handling royalty?" He asked.

She shrugged. "Slowly. You?"

Rowan started walking toward the kitchen again, Manon following. "I'm still trying to wrap my head around it." Trying to wrap his head around the fact that Aelin married him therefore making him a King.

Manon nodded, seeming to understand. Dorian waved her over and she smiled at him. A true smile, one that showed just how happy she was with him.

He waved her over and she turned to Rowan. "See you around."

Rowan left her with Dorian and sat next to Lorcan, Gavriel and Elide. Elide smiled at him as he sat down. "We're almost ready. Are you excited?"

Lorcan nudged her arm and gave her a look that didn't go unnoticed by Rowan. He was tired of them treating him this way so he decided to speak up.

"Lorcan," Rowan said, their attention turning to him. "She asked a valid question. Yes. I'm excited to see Aelin again and I'm excited to hopefully see Maeve dead. Stop treating me like I'm a wounded puppy."
