It was summer, when I was just turning thirteen, in my first year of middle school, that I met her. The air was hot and breezy. I was waiting in the bus booth and reading on my phone.
"Yo!" She said.
I ignored her and pretended I didn't hear her, I didn't even look up to see her face.
"Why are you ignoring me? I'm talking to you."
I was beginning to get irritated.
"Sorry, but won't you just at least look at me before I leave?"
Seriously this chick was so annoying!
"WHAT IS IT?!" I shouted.
The moment I looked up I noticed her long black hair. It looked really soft and sleek. She had dark brown eyes and soft pink cheeks. She looked like an idol, cute, and her figure wasn't bad either.
At second glance I noticed she wasn't even talking to me, her face was shocked and so was everyone else. She was talking to her pet dog. Standing behind her with the leash was probably her boyfriend.
"Ahahahaaaa ha ha" I laughed awkwardly to myself. I sat back down and started playing clash of clans on my phone. That was embarrassing. She probably thinks I'm really weird and gross.
"Bwah ha ha!"
What? Is she laughing at me? For real? She does think I'm stupid.
"Sorry. It probably sounded like I was talking to you." She said.
"No, it's my fault. I should've noticed my surroundings."
"I guess you're right, haha." She joked.
Awh she's really nice, if she didn't have a boyfriend, what am I kidding, I wouldn't even have a chance. Wait. We'll both be riding the bus, maybe this is my chance?!
"Anyways, nice to meet you, my name is Hashiro Emi." She greeted.
"Likewise, uh, my name is Hibiki, Takaki Hibiki."
"Oi, Emi, why are you talking to a stranger? Are you that ready to forget about me already?" Said her boyfriend.
"Sorry, but he deserved an apology don't you think?"
"I guess so, but-"
"You can rest at ease, I won't forget you. I can also message you and FaceTime you okay?" She probably said that to calm him down.
"You, I-" He was cut off from the bus.
I grabbed my suitcase and my backpack.
Emi bent down and kissed her dog and said,
"Then, goodbye, Tiger. I love youuu!"
"You too Katashi-Chan, see you soon." She said sending him off with a smile.
I got on the bus first and went for the back seats. She got on right after me and sat in the seat next to me.
"Hello, is it okay if I sit here?" She asked.
Of course it's okay, although I'd rather it if you sat in the same seat, but I don't know what your boyfriend would think. Reminded of him I checked out the window. There he was leash in his hand and both eyes glaring at me. It was the death stare. He was mouthing to me, and it seemed like 'I'll kill you if you touch her'. I gulped spit, because he seemed like he was serious.
"I'm fine with it, but say, won't your boyfriend be kind of upset with you sitting next to some guy you just met?" I answered.
"Boyfriend? I don't know what you're talking about?"
"That guy who was standing with you."
"Oh, Katashi-chan! Hehe! Katashi-chan is a childhood friend of mine, he's not my boyfriend." She said.
I swear my heart beat ten times in a row the second she said they weren't dating. But just from looking at him he sure looks like he wants to be her boyfriend.
"Ohh, haha that's it huh." I said. I tried to not let my emotions spill out. I turned to look out the window to hide my smirking smile and flushed cheeks.
"Then, I'll be your bus partner until one of us gets off!" Emi said cheerfully.
"Yes, then I'll be in your care." I said smiling back at her lovely face.
Then the bus took off.
