"So, where are you going?" She asked me.

"Um.. to Mitsaske. Where are you heading-?"

"NO WAY!" She stood up and yelled. Three of the other passengers on the bus turned around. Once she noticed her face blushed up. ~How cuteee. Emi apologetically bowed to the others and after took her seat.

"Me too! I'm going to be living in Mitsaske soon!" She returned to her cheery self. This made me fill up with happiness. Emi-chan and I, would be living in the same town. I could see her everyday. Wait! I should ask for her phone number, but would she even tell someone like me?

*Scene envisioned in my head:

"Then, Emi-san could I have your phone number?" I would ask.

A face of disgust and hatred would appear on her face but she'd still look as beautiful as ever and she'd say "My phone number? You want me to give you my phone number?! First, who would want to even talk to you? I'm just trying to be nice and now you have to go and ruin it? Secondly, I already have a boyfriend, Katashi-kun. Don't you get it already, you stupid dung beetle. You're the worst! Scum like you could never get someone of high class like me. My Katashi-kun isuch more stronger than you, handsomer than you, and he's smarter than you. Just wait till I tell him about this. Geez, people these days are such houndogs." Then she'd grab some red tape and split it in between us saying, "Stay on your side of the line, you perv." And it all never would've happened had I just kept my mouth shut.

No way would she ever call me all that, Emi seems so nice, but still there are three hours, left to go and I don't want to get on her bad side. I should just leave it at, nice pretty girl, who smells nice and sits next to me on the bus kind of a relationship and leave the feels(feelings) out of this.

"Then, if you don't mind could you give me your cellphone number?" Asked Emi.

Huh? She's sooooo nice!! I'm blushing with love.

"Huh.. you sure you would want to talk to someone like me?" I asked.

"Ahaha, you're really funny. Of course I would, we could become super good friends."

"Thank you I can't wait to be your frien-"

Friend? FRIENDS?! Huh..? Of course she meant friends. Who would want to go out with me?

"You okay? You suddenly lost color in your face." She asked.

"Umm.. I'm fine .. I'll get through this heart break somehow .." I mumbled. My spirit is just sort of dangling out of my body is all.

"Then, let's exchange phone numbers!"

"Yes, let's." I said knowing that there was nothing more than just friends. I got her number and she had mine, but now what?

"Alright! Mitsuske! Get off please and have a safe trip!" Said the bus driver.

Emi got up first and headed for the door and called back to me, "Oi! Aren't you coming?"

"Ahh- yes." I replied and grabbed my bag, got off the bus and went onto the train station. The station was crowded with people and there were a bunch of highschool girls in a corner each holding hands with their boyfriends.

"Takaki-kun how old are you?" She asked me.
"I'm thirteen."
"Me too! But.. you seem much taller than the thirteen year old boys in my class."
She said, standing on her tip toes close to my face trying to reach the to of my head.

I could feel my face blushing.

"Umm.. I don't know maybe everyone at your school is jus-st short..?" I fumbled out.

"Hmm..probably." She said.

Ringgggggggg

Ding ding ding...

"Hello! The time is now 10:30 and the train to South Mitsaske has arrived, please watch your step while boarding. Thank you very much for riding with us today."

"Um.. nice meeting you, I have to go now. I'm heading south, then goodbye?" Said Emi.

"Um.. NICE MEETING YOU TOO! Today was a lot of fun and maybe I'll see again." I stated.

"Pfftt... hahah! Who says we can't?" Then she grabbed my hand and I started blushing, "I'm sure, that the fates will allow, and I'll get to see you again."

"Umm ," I said in confirmation "I'll see you again sometime soon."

Then she left me alone waiting for my ride.

Now it has been two years since then and I haven't seen her since.
