Lucy's PoV
Soft hums echoed throughout my bathroom, I've always liked to sing in bath. A soft sigh escaped my lips, the scent of strawberries and yogurts were swirling around me. This is heaven~
After soaking in the bathtub for another hour, I picked out my outfit for today. I ran my fingers through my blonde locks along with my brush. I repeated this until it was dry and soft before styling it in a simple ponytail. Some strands escaped, as usual. It seems that they would never be tied properly. I got dressed, grabbed my keys and headed to the guild.
In the back of my mind I thought it strange that I finished my morning routines without someone disturbing me. I didn't even find Natsu in my bed when I woke up. But I figured it was nice once in a while.
Slam! "Good Morning Everyone!"
"Good Morning Lucy!"
"Hi Lucy!"
"Mornin'!"
My feet went to its normal route to my usual stool in Mirajane's bar. "Hey Mira!" She turned to me and beamed "Hey Lucy! Aren't you late today? No missions yet?"
I laughed at the onslaught of questions, "Yeah, I don't think we'll be getting one soon, the previous reward was enough to last me three months!" I paused before adding, "Hey Mira, isn't it a bit quiet today?"
"Oh you didn't know Lucy?" I shook my head no. "Remember my sister Lisanna? She appeared yesterday noon. And most of the guild threw a party to welcome her back."
"A pity I'm stuck here." A dark look flashed by her face. Is she sulking? "Oh Mira, I'll take over here. You can go welcome your sister back."
The dark look disappeared, replacing it was a rather large grin if I do say so myself. "Really Lucy?! Oh thank you, thank you, thank you so much!"
After she left, I sighed. Why couldn't they just party here anyway? Ah never mind. This will be a good experience Lucy! You can't let Mira down!
Fortunately, only a couple of people was here. Thus, my work isn't really that taxing. Despite that, a swirling sense of pride blossomed within me. I've done something new today and accomplished it satisfactory. Thank god nobody got poisoned or something.
The day soon came to an end and I found myself wondering why they didn't just have the party here and why Mirajane of all people was left out of the party. I didn't think much of it however, at least Wendy kept me company all day.
I decided to invite Wendy for a mission tomorrow. Knowing the guild, the party will take at the very least 3 days and 3 nights and I just realized yesterday that I don't do well without some chaos so I needed something to get me going. It didn't matter if there isn't a Natsu to accompany me.
The next day, Wendy agreed and we set out for a mission which paid at 100 000 jewels.
"Lucy, what was the task again?" Little wonder why this kid is so polite even when we already spent such a long time with each other. "It mentioned something about a monster and several animals disappearing."
Carla shifted in Wendy's hold. It looks like she's having another trip to the future. Briefly, I wondered what it would be like to do the same.
"What kind of monster would it be? And isn't that kind of normal in forests?" Wendy hummed. "It doesn't say anything about the monster attacking humans so why would they pay such a high price to rid of it?"
"I asked around before taking it. They said that they mostly get their lives running through animals so it kinda affected their lifestyle." I said. My reply somehow satisfied Wendy's curiosity so we ceased chatting about the mission and rested our eyes. It feels kinda lonely without all the noise.
