Hi, I'm Felicity Freeman, yes I'm a boy, not a girl, although my name is meant for girls. Anyways, I like to go by the name Flick.
My mother says that my name means luck, and good fortune, and that one day something special would happen to me, but o...

I walk the city streets alone, on my way to the subway. The street lamps as the only thing giving off light at this time of day.
The sun is setting, adding a mix of rose, and violet to the sky, creating an ombré effect in the misty darkness.
My sneakers click against the concrete floor, as I walk. I cough. It's getting chilly now, and only few people remain on the streets, bustling about, probably on their way home. I step on a buss, and drop my ticket in the slot, taking my seat.
The buss murmurs its next stop, and I find myself shifting in my seat, to face the window.
I watch as the buss zooms by, making the buildings look blurry. But as the buss stops at a red light, I see someone standing on the street, a girl. Her long black hair cascades down her bony shoulders, her thin figure looking directly at me. But as I look into her eyes, I can't seem to look away. Bright crystal clear, blue eyes stare back at my light brown ones. So bright, no, electric even. They look as though there could be an ocean behind her eyes, a clear ocean, just waiting to be swam in.
But as I breath out heavily, fog blocks my vision from her, and the buss starts to move again.
Quickly, I rub the fog off the window with the back of my hand, but it's to late she's gone.
I shake my head, and lean back on my chair, no longer facing the window anymore. I rub my forehead in circular motions, trying to ease my new developing headache, and the buss's bumpy movements aren't helping with it. I close my eyes, but right when they close, the buss murmurs my stop.
So I get up, and hop off the buss, and continue my journey to the subway. Step by step, I slowly get closer to the stairs, and as I'm about to hop down the first step, I hear a man yelling.
"STOP HER! STOP HER!" He shouts. I look in front of me, only to see a thin body, with black hair sprinting down the street towards me.
"STOP HER!" He shouts louder. I take one last look at the man, who's eyes are covered with black shades, and wears a black tux, as well as the other man sprinting beside him, before a hand grabs mine, and violently pulls me into the alleyway, beside us. I'm thrown over a fence, and luckily I land, on a not so fortunate, mouldy mattress, and as quick as I was thrown over, I'm pulled up again, being dragged down another street. Then, I get shoved into the back door of an apartment building, and I'm now able to see my captor, and it's the girl. The one I saw in the window of the buss. She's panting heavily, and her smooth black hair has been messed up, and tossed about.
"WHA-" I'm cut off when she covers my mouth with her hand, muffling my terrified cry. "SHHHHH!" She hisses, slamming my back against the wall.
I can hear the two men still shouting outside, slowly, getting closer by the second.
Her heavy breathing tickles my cheeks, and that's when I realize how close we are. Her chest is pressed against mine, trying to hide her pale figure from the window on the door.
Her hand is on my chest, keeping me against the wall, while the other is on my mouth, keeping me silent. My hands are by her side, gently brushing her hips. I breathe out heavily against her hand.
The voices of the men slowly start to fade, so she removes her hands from my mouth. Then she places her hands on her hips, and sighs of tiredness. "Woah, sprinting six blocks is quite the challenge!"
I stand there with my mouth open, probably looking like a complete idiot, waiting for words come out of my mouth. Nothing comes out. I scan the small area for an exit, but the only one is the one she's standing in front of.
She looks at me in confusion, then her face softens. "Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself, the name's Ephemeral, but you can call me Effie."
"You...um...you...how...why-why did-whydidyoudothis!whoareyou!" She just laughs, and steps closer to me, closing my wide open jaw with her finger. "Okay okay, calm down."
She could be a creepy killer, or someone dangerous, who-happens to be very pretty. But I still can't trust her. "Who were those guys chasing you? And why am I here?" She pauses, and looks as if she's contemplating on what to say. "Well, first of all, those guys are from the government, and second, your here cause I need your help."
"Wait? The government?!" She nods. "Like politics and crap?" She shakes her head, a smile playing about her lips. "It's the top secret science and technology governments, hence why they have black suits on." "Okay but were they chasing you?" I ask., slowly becoming more nervous than I already am. She smirks slyly, then pulls a small device out of her pocket.
"Because of this."
